Духовное просвещение и история. Студенты БНТУ приняли участие в IX Свято-Николаевских чтениях

Today, May 28, the 9th St. Nicholas Spiritual and Educational Readings were held at the Saints Methodius and Cyril Christian Educational Center. The event brought together researchers, clergy, and young people. First-year students of the Power Engineering Department of the Belarusian National Technical University participated in the conference.

The first-year students attended the readings as part of their course "Fundamentals of Spiritual and Moral Culture and Patriotism." During the plenary session, church history papers were presented on the history of Orthodoxy in Belarus and prominent religious figures. Experts in the field presented a number of research papers to the audience.

The first speaker was Alexander Slesarev, Vice-Rector for Research, Professor of the Department of Church History and Church-Practical Disciplines at the Minsk Theological Academy, and Vice-Rector for Research at the Minsk Theological Seminary. His presentation focused on the ideological guidelines and confessional policies of the Belarusian national center in exile in 1945–1947.

Sergei Strenkovsky, First Vice-Rector of the Minsk City Institute for Education Development, addressed the reflection of the history of Orthodoxy in Belarus in the textbooks of Priest Vladimir Angelsky from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Pavel Bubnov, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Church History and Church-Practical Disciplines at the Minsk Theological Academy and Professor at the Minsk Theological Seminary, dedicated his presentation to the life and service to the Fatherland of Saint Sophia, Princess of Slutsk.

The students then went to the memorial auditorium dedicated to the memory of Metropolitan Philaret (Vakhromeyev), the first Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus. The exhibits were shown to the public by Father Svyatoslav Rogalsky, Chairman of the Board of the Center. He spoke in detail about the history of this memorial space, which was established for the 25th anniversary of the Christian Educational Center, and the idea behind its creation.

Summing up the meeting, Father Svyatoslav noted the importance of this format. He said it was remarkable that BNTU students were able to see the center in action and become full participants in the conference. The event proved to be rich and informative for everyone.
