Today, on May 23, the BNTU Lyceum students celebrated the last bell in the auditorium of the main building of the BNTU.
The hall was attended by guests of honor: the Rector of the BNTU Sergey Kharitonchik, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Oleg Gusev, the Director of the Lyceum Nadezhda Demyanovich, and the Secretary of the BNTU branch of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union Rodion Fedorovich. The event was also attended by teachers, graduates, and their parents.
Before the ceremony began, the attendees laid flowers at the monument to the students and faculty members of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute who died during the Great Patriotic War. The students honored the memory of those who gave us a peaceful sky.
The solemn part of the event began with the graduates' entrance, after which Sergei Kharitonchik addressed them with a parting word.
— Today, we welcomed our graduates in the same way that we welcomed the President of the Republic of Belarus in this hall, with the same standing ovation. I believe that this is no coincidence, as many well-known leaders, scientists, and specialists will soon be among you. Therefore, we are welcoming you with great honor. Today is the day of the final bell, and you undoubtedly have many thoughts on your minds. Everyone wants to achieve something, to succeed somewhere, and that's right. You need to set ambitious goals and objectives, and then everything will work out in life. There's nothing unattainable in this life. The key is to set goals that are meaningful, comfortable, and that allow you to express yourself as a creative individual. As the rector of this university, I look forward to welcoming you all to our institution. Our doors are open to everyone, and our graduates, including those who have completed their studies at the Lyceum, are the pride and glory of our country. For example, Maxim Tsaruk, a graduate of the BNTU Lyceum, a renowned grandmaster and international chess player, is already a world chess champion and represents our country with great dignity. He is a student of our university who graduated from the Lyceum. However, today is a day when you cannot relax, as you have important tests and choices ahead of you, and you must make them consciously. You must think carefully about your future and take important steps, and you will succeed. The main thing is not to hold yourself back in anything, look into your own soul, consult with your parents and teachers, then you will make the choice in which you will not disappoint.
In turn, Nadezhda Demyanovich noted that the graduates have mastered not only the ability to cope with difficult tasks, but also learned to build friendly relations.
— On this beautiful sunny solemn day, I congratulate you on the holiday. For you today will sound the last bell. Two years have flown by unnoticed. It seems that only yesterday you crossed the threshold of the Lyceum, and these doors opened for you, and today you are all self-sufficient individuals who have already shown very good results. We have won competitions and shown ourselves on the international stage. But in addition to solving problems, we have learned to be friends. We have learned to celebrate each other's successes. We have learned true Lyceum brotherhood. We are facing difficult challenges ahead. I wish you all to gather your strength, show yourselves with dignity, and, of course, I know that we will succeed.
Rodion Fedorovich continued the series of congratulations. After warm words addressed to the graduates, he presented the guys with commendations for active participation in the social life of the Lyceum and the class, for fruitful work, creative achievements, the initiative shown and assistance in organizing events, as well as for the contribution to the activities of the BRSM.
The program of the event also included bright performances of the graduates: creative numbers from the eleventh grades and a fiery dance by Anna Gest and Mikhail Fedin. A touching moment of the celebration was an interactive session with parents, during which a mini-exam was held with Yes and No answers.
The students were also congratulated by their class teachers, parents, and a musical gift from the lyceum's secretary, Ekaterina Rysevets.
The culmination of the celebration was the graduates' response: Sonya Bernatskaya and Anya Portnaya solemnly handed over the "Album of Lyceum Memories" to tenth-grader Anya Nastushonok as a symbol of the continuity of traditions, ending with sincere words of gratitude to their teachers and parents.
The holiday ended with the traditional last bell, which was given by the graduates of the Lyceum, Vadim Khomich and Polina Nikolaychuk.
We wish the 11th graders successful exams and a confident start into adulthood!
