The marathon of acquaintances with the finalists of the "Mr. BNTU - 2026" competition is drawing to a close. Preparations for May's main creative event have entered their most active phase: rehearsals are getting longer, and the concepts for the performances are becoming more complex. Today, we introduce you to Alexander Terez, a student at the Faculty of Management
Alexander confidently describes himself as a goal-oriented, responsible, and kind person, noting that true character is revealed not in grandiose words, but in the way he treats people. The finalist deeply values his individuality and prefers to follow his own, albeit challenging, path.
– If you could borrow one skill from anyone in the world, what would it be?
– Honestly, none. Because then it wouldn't be quite me. I'm interested in developing my own qualities, forging my own path, and achieving results through my experience and hard work. A person's value lies not in others' talents, but in how they develop theirs.
A student's diverse interests help him unlock his inner potential. On the one hand, there's drawing, which has been a source of inspiration and peace for him since childhood. On the other, there's equestrianism, which instills strict discipline. Alexander's journey in equestrianism became a true school of life.
– Share the story of a failure that ultimately became a real launchpad for you.
When I started equestrianism, many didn't believe I could achieve significant results. There were doubts, criticism, and moments when I wanted to quit. But that's what motivated me to keep going. Now I'm an equestrian trainer and instructor, and I'm proud to have proven, first and foremost, to myself: if someone truly loves their work, they can achieve great things.
It's not just athletic endurance that helps the finalist overcome difficulties, but also the right encouragement from those around him.
– What's the most valuable piece of advice you've received that has truly helped you achieve success?
– Someone once told me, "Don't look at someone else's process – follow your own path and your own pace." And that advice truly changed my thinking. Nowadays, people compare themselves too often to others, forgetting that everyone has their own path, their own time, and their own victories.
On the project, Alexander also has to constantly challenge himself. One of these challenges for him was the need to overcome a long-standing internal barrier – a fear of public speaking.
– I've had stage fright since childhood. Standing in front of a large crowd was a real challenge. But over time, through performances and constant self-improvement, I was able to overcome this fear. I learned from personal experience that courage isn't the absence of fear, but the ability to move forward despite it.
The student approaches the preparation of his creative routine with the utmost responsibility. To balance rehearsals and studies, he had to wisely reorganize his time and literally "build his schedule like a racing car from scratch."
– What's more difficult: memorizing exam questions overnight or choreographing a routine and coordinating all the details?
– Definitely, choreographing a routine. Lighting, sound, costumes, rehearsals, teamwork—it's a huge process where everything needs to come together perfectly. This requires not only time and effort, but also the ability to work as a team and listen to the people around you.
Alexander Terez promises to make his performance at the finals truly spectacular, emphasizing sincerity and a powerful delivery.
– What will audiences remember about your routine years from now?
– The drive and energy of the dance. All the ideas were born in a stream of thoughts, emotions, and a constant search for something unusual. I truly believe this will amaze both the audience and the jury. Energy can't be faked—it can only be felt. Why will this be memorable? Because we won't just be performing a number—we'll be igniting the room with our energy. And I think the audience will definitely feel it.
