Students from the PSF, together with the Scientific Library, held an event called "Reading Poems about the War"

Студенты ПСФ вместе с Научной библиотекой провели мероприятие «Читаем стихи о войне»

On May 6, the event “Reading Poems about the War” took place in Dormitory No. 8 of the Instrument-Making Faculty of BNTU. The students gathered not just to listen to poetry, but to live through it together with the writers.

Brief but extremely precise biographical notes, focusing specifically on the years of military service, were prepared by Irina Petrovna Ivanova, a staff member of the BNTU Scientific Library.

The program featured works by poets whose youth fell during the Great Patriotic War. Pavel Shubin, Sergei Narovchatov, Mikhail Kulchitsky, Grigory Glazov, Pimen Panchenko, Yulia Drunina, Alexei Pysin, Semyon Gudzenko, Evgeny Vinokurov, Vladimir Trukhanov, Sergei Orlov, Eduard Asadov, Pavlyuk Pranuza, Alexander Tvardovsky and Nikolai Mayorov — each of them left in their lines not only a literary, but also a documentary trace of the era.

Irina Petrovna spoke about which of these poets managed to return home after the Victory. Among those who survived and went through the entire war was Pavel Shubin, whose fate, like the fates of many of his contemporaries, became an example of incredible inner fortitude.

The event “Reading Poems about the War” became more than just a literary evening. It was an act of living memory, proof that as long as these lines are heard, history does not turn into archival dust. Within the walls of Dormitory No. 8, the voices of front-line poets regained their breath, reminding us: reading their poems means keeping a promise to remember.
