Strength tests in Dormitory No. 8: streetlifting tournament

Силовые испытания в общежитии № 8: турнир по стритлифтингу

On April 28, streetlifting competitions were held in the dormitory No. 8 of the Instrument Engineering Faculty of BNTU, bringing together fans of a healthy lifestyle and strength sports. Streetlifting is a relatively young sport that combines elements of street athletics and power triathlon. In streetlifting, quantitative results are important: the winner is the one who does the most repetitions in the set exercises. The competition was held in a friendly and at the same time truly athletic atmosphere. Healthy competition and the pursuit of personal bests have created a unique atmosphere for the celebration of sports. The participants had to demonstrate their endurance and functional strength in three disciplines: 1. Pull–ups on the crossbar are a basic exercise for developing the muscles of the back and arms. 2. Push–ups on the uneven bars - check the strength of triceps and pectoral muscles. 3. Pushing a kettlebell weighing 16 kg is a test of explosive power and overall endurance. All exercises were performed for the maximum number of repetitions, which required athletes not only to be physically fit, but also to properly distribute their strength throughout the competition. The competitions were held in three weight categories, which allowed creating equal conditions for all participants. According to the results of the tournament, the winners were: Up to 80 kg Daniil Nezhevets; 80-90 kg Stepan Baranovsky; Over 90 kg Vladislav Volodkovich. Holding streetlifting tournaments in student dormitories is of great importance for promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people. Sport is the way to strength, health and victory over oneself!
