Brest, Krichev, Soligorsk. Where else did schoolchildren come from for the FGDIE open day?

Брест, Кричев, Солигорск. Из каких еще мест приехали школьники на день открытых дверей ФГДИЭ

An open day was held at the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering (FMEE) on March 24, 2026. The event was attended by high school students, including those majoring in engineering, from Novoselkovskaya Secondary School in the Oshmyany District, Minsk Secondary School No. 178 named after T. Lukyanovich, Brest Secondary School No. 35 named after Marshal of the Soviet Union K. Rokossovsky, Krichev Secondary School No. 8, and Soligorsk Secondary School No. 2, as well as their parents.

For reference: Developing mineral deposits in Belarus (potash, chalk, clay, peat, marl, dolomite, sand and gravel mixtures, hydrocarbons, etc.) requires training engineering personnel in a number of areas: underground and open-pit mining, mining equipment for underground and open-pit mining, and beneficiation and processing facilities, all while minimizing environmental damage and ensuring environmental quality. The Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering, established in 2002, provides training in mining-related areas: mineral deposit development, machinery and equipment for mining operations, and environmental engineering. The Faculty is a center for the training and advanced training of engineering personnel in the Republic of Belarus in the extraction, processing, and rational use of natural resources, environmental protection, and environmental management.

The guests strolled through the campus of the Belarusian National Technical University, enjoying the atmosphere of the learning space. Along the way, they learned about student life and the diverse university scene through events such as "BNTU Spring," "Freshman's Day," "Miss (Mr.) BNTU," and the annual Universiade among Belarusian universities.

During the walk, the students also met with faculty members, who spoke about the academic programs, research projects, and opportunities for future students. They also shared the achievements of students who had participated in large-scale (and international) competitions and forums, such as the Belarusian-Chinese Youth Forum, the Union State Universities Forum, BELAZ-CHALLENGE, and "100 Ideas for Belarus."

In addition, the students and their parents met and interacted with the students, learned about their hobbies and plans for the future, visited the dormitory, and also spent time over lunch in the student cafeteria.

This walk helped create a warm and friendly atmosphere and provide a better understanding of the university's inner workings. The faculty thanks the applicants for taking the time to visit BNTU.
