In the lead-up to the national holiday—Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus, celebrated on March 15—students from the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogics (FEP) of the Belarusian National Technical University actively participated in a series of patriotic and educational events. The events were organized by BNTU affiliates: BRSM, the Trade Union, and the Student Council.
For reference : The Constitution of Belarus was adopted on March 15, 1994, by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus and is the first in the history of the sovereign republic. The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus is the Fundamental Law of the state, having supreme legal force and direct effect throughout the country. It lays the foundations for regulating the legal, political, and economic systems of the state.
A journey through history within the walls of the National Museum
One of the events was a visit by IPF students to the National History Museum of the Republic of Belarus, where an exhibition entitled "The Constitution – the Fundamental Law of the State" was on display.
The children's journey through the exhibition began in the first hall, which amazed them with large-scale models of the country's iconic architectural structures: the Church of All Saints, Mir Castle, the National Library, and the Palace of the Republic.
The second hall, divided into thematic sections, immersed students in recent history. The exhibition covered the collapse of the USSR and detailed the history of the nomination of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. A separate section of the exhibition was dedicated to the history of the national currency.
A student from the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy shared her impressions of the excursion:
"The most memorable part was the room with the models. It's like you can see all of Belarus at once—from ancient castles to a modern library. It was very interesting to learn how money has changed in our country. It's not just a lecture, but living history that you can experience with your own eyes."
Intellectual and entertaining game QUIZ " Our law is our power! "
BRSM activists from the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy organized an intellectual and entertaining quiz game for students, "Our Law is Our Power!" Participants divided into teams and enthusiastically immersed themselves in the world of law and history. Questions covered not only articles of the Constitution but also state symbols, the structure of government, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens.
"We tried to make the game not just useful, but also lively and dynamic," the organizers shared their impressions. "Seeing the students' eyes light up, how they debate, discuss their answers, and rejoice at the correct solutions is the best reward. These formats demonstrate that patriotism and knowledge of the law can be truly engaging. Our law is truly our strength, and it's wonderful that the students understand this."
Constitution Day Quiz
The IAP student union also organized a quiz to test knowledge of our country's Basic Law . The intellectual competition covered the history of the Constitution, issues of government structure, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens.
The game confirmed that the legal foundations and history of their home country are interesting and relatable to the participants. Each received a personalized diploma – a memorable gift and a sign of recognition of their erudition.
The Chairman of the EPF Student Trade Union noted the importance of such events:
"Our students took the game very seriously. It was gratifying to see them not simply answering questions mechanically, but thinking, analyzing, and applying logic. The Constitution is more than just a set of rules; it is the foundation of our lives, and every citizen should understand it."
The events marking Constitution Day once again confirmed that students of the BNTU Engineering and Pedagogics Faculty not only receive a high-quality education but are also patriots of their country, interested in its history, laws, and future.
