One step closer to the title of "Miss BNTU - 2026": Milana Karnevich

На шаг ближе к титулу «Мисс БНТУ – 2026»: Милана Карневич

Every day this week, we present two participants of the Miss BNTU – 2026 contest, who share their stories, experiences and views on familiar things. Milana Karnevich, a first-year student at the Faculty of Automotive Engineering, opens the third day of acquaintance.

Participation in the Miss BNTU contest is definitely not about rivalry, but about the opportunity to look inside yourself and discover your potential. Milana shares the same opinion, because already during the preparation she was convinced that she had taken an important step towards her true desires.

– I believe that when you go on stage as part of any events, you should first of all have a great time yourself, get positive emotions from your performance. There is no joy in performing, whether the audience likes it or not.

Milana has a great love for the stage. A girl likes to show off her talents and receive loud applause as a reward.

– Perhaps for many people the scene is something scary and unimaginable, but I feel like a fish in water on it.

It is performing on stage as a dancer that the girl considers her main achievements in life. Milan has won numerous contests both Belarusian and foreign. The finalist noted that for her, success is primarily about showing the number itself, not getting a medal.

– I went to dance competitions in Lithuania and Latvia, where I took first and second places. These were performances in a team, and I like them more than solo ones, because you can beat a lot of interesting and aesthetic ideas in them. However, even in a team, you can find a way to stand out by making part of the number solo.

– Are you just a performer in a dance number, or are you also an organizer?

– Now I'm just developing the skill of choreography. I'm not used to playing this role, but it's very interesting. On "Freshman Day", I staged a dance for the first time and decided to repeat this experience during the preparation period for the "BNTU Spring". Each rehearsal helps me as a choreographer: I explore the possibilities of not only other dancers, but also my own, I work on leadership qualities, a sense of taste and watching.

Another deep topic in the conversation was the eternal dilemma about what is more important – the beauty of the external appearance or the soul. According to Milana, she has found the perfect balance of the two components.

– I often hear compliments about my appearance, but I understand that this is not the main thing. It is the inner qualities of a person that determine what kind of person he is. I like to help others, be generous and sincere. I also like to take responsibility for myself.

During the discussion of her strengths, the girl also noted that she does not pay attention to the opinions of others. Her style, favorite activities, and surroundings are all chosen by her heart alone. The contestant is confident that the ability to listen to oneself and be guided by one's own desires creates true uniqueness.

– How do you see yourself in a couple of years?

– I hope to see myself as a true leader and find a balance in my life where I can do a lot. I want to keep the energy inside me that helps me move forward.

Despite her ability to show courage and responsibility in everyday life, when her friends suggested that she register for the Miss BNTU casting, the girl was a little embarrassed.

– I have a friend who is currently in her third year. She also participated in a similar contest, and I helped her. I looked at her and I wanted to feel the same atmosphere of beauty in my life. I thought a lot before applying, but two hours before registration closed, I sent my application form.

– What do you think helped you pass the casting?

– Charisma is important here. I'm sociable and it's easy for me to start a conversation with anyone. Eye contact and correct intonation are also of great importance. It's not for nothing that they say that sometimes it's not what you say that matters, but how.

When it came to the values and qualities that a finalist should possess, the girl confidently stated:

– First of all, you don't need to envy others or resort to the other extreme: look only at yourself. I think it's better to be responsive and talkative. I also believe that a successful performance in the finals will happen only when a girl doesn't just think about winning and winning the crown.

We thank Milana for the interview and wish her easy rehearsals and a successful performance.
