Today, on March 2, a roadster designed and built by Polytechnic students arrived at the Belarusian National Technical University. The long-awaited model was met by Sergey Skirkovsky, Dean of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering (ATF), Igor Serebryakov, head of the Student Design Bureau "Advanced Vehicle Designs", Andrey Dzema, senior lecturer at the Department of Tractors, project manager, as well as engineers and students of the faculty.

The idea of the roadster was developed on the basis of the ATF Student Design Bureau. The path to creating a car was long and included not only work at the BNTU, but also close cooperation with colleagues from Russia.
– The arrival of the roadster is a significant and long–awaited event for the university. The project promises to become one of the flagships of the student design bureau and help bring the university's image to a new level by focusing on advanced solutions," said Igor Serebryakov.

The project went through the stages from the idea to the creation of a real model, and now on the territory of the BNTU you can see the main mechanism that starts and can go. Roman Rigorevich, one of the creators, spoke about the process and the nuances of design:
– In the distant past, I had the idea to create some kind of Belarusian-made car so that it could be produced in our country. We already have BELGEE, which is a Chinese assembly made from Chinese spare parts, but we wanted to create something directly from our own, domestic ones. At the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, we were invited to participate in a project to create a roadster. First, the idea was created, the body design, and after that, the mechanical component was already sketched.

When creating the roadster, there were many difficulties that required engineering solutions. As Roman noted, the most difficult thing in modeling was the positioning of the steering rack:
– It seems absolutely simple in itself, if you look at it, but in fact a certain height must correspond. That is, when turning, so that the wheel does not turn more, less, and so on. But we managed to install it a little easier than we expected. I believe that we have coped with this difficult task quite well at the moment.

One of the developers also shared that this is not the end, but the beginning of a long journey.
– In fact, there is still a lot of work to be done. Not everything is finished yet, as we can see, there are many unfinished details that need to be designed and recreated in the future. We will create the body and refine it in parallel," he shared.

The training of specialists capable of creating domestic cars is a significant step for the development of the country's engineering school and industry. We are sure that we will see the roadster in full configuration soon. We wish its creators inexhaustible enthusiasm, success in finalizing the project and new bold ideas.
