On Sunday, February 22, the results of the Miss BNTU – 2026 casting were announced at the Belarusian National Technical University. The ten finalists have already immersed themselves in the intensive process of preparing their performances on stage: they hone their gait and speech skills at master classes and trainings, and rehearse their creative performances daily to impress the jury and the audience.
In parallel with the rehearsals, the girls go through the path of inner transformation, getting to know each other and discovering something new in themselves. They are also helped in this by the good tradition of the contest – conducting thematic interviews that reveal the character and inner world of the contestants. Alina Galavachenko, a second-year student of the Sports and Technical Faculty, was the first to share her inner world.
The conversation with Alina began with a discussion of the contest topic. The girl shared that for her, the meaning of the phrase is understood as the ability to overcome her fears and declare herself on the project.
– For me personally, this is primarily the first large-scale project in which I participate independently. This is a challenge where I have to fully open up. To take such a step means to overcome inner fears and, despite them, to step onto the big stage.
A lot of changes have taken place in Alina's life over the past year, and we were wondering what discoveries the finalist had discovered about herself. As it turned out, the girl's creative path got a new lease of life.
– What have you discovered about yourself over the past year that surprised you?
– My main discovery was the change of role in dance. Previously, my goal was simply to participate in a team where others were involved in productions. But here I discovered the opportunity to create dance numbers, turn my own ideas into reality and see their results.
In beauty contests, there are often debates about what is more important: external data or the wealth of the soul. Alina also discussed this topic during the conversation.
– I would like to find the perfect balance. It is not necessary to single out one thing, because the competition is a struggle not only for the title of the most excellent appearance, but also for the inner qualities of a person. One should complement the other. I believe that I have both inner and outer beauty. The inner one is manifested in kindness, sincerity and responsiveness. I'm the kind of person who can't do without communication, and good–natured people are a real treasure to me.
The finalist also found a balance in the fields of education and hobbies. Alina's choice of faculty was not accidental, and she admitted that sports had accompanied her all her life. Studying at the Faculty of Sports and Technology became a logical continuation of her interests, and the university environment allowed her to open up in completely new disciplines.
– I've been interested in sports all my life, and I chose the Faculty of Sports and Technology. I did not regret my decision to come here at all, because here I develop comprehensively, participating in competitions even in those sports in which I have never seen myself. I've been really interested in table tennis since I was a kid. At the university, my potential was revealed. I was also interested in volleyball all the time, I did it, but at an amateur level, and now I'm already showing myself in competitions.
– What are your main achievements?
– As a child, I was fond of rhythmic gymnastics, through which I learned to see aesthetics. I didn't have a goal to win prizes, I studied exclusively for myself. Now I am proudly reviewing my board, on which these medals hang. I also consider it a significant achievement that at a more conscious age, during numerous trips to health camps, I often took first places in various sports at various competitions. These victories have always brought me great joy.
In addition to sports, the girl devotes a huge part of her time to dancing. As with sports, Alina has undergone a transformation in this area: she has moved from classical pop choreography to more modern and daring directions.
– Now I'm developing in such styles as jazz-funk and gurley-choreo. Why did I change my style? In my hometown, I used to dance in a band that was like a family to me. The whole choreography was based on the general atmosphere and teamwork. Here, in Minsk, I dance more for myself. These directions allow me to express my personal individuality, to reveal my own energy, and not just to be part of a group. Alina's hobbies have shaped her certain values and principles.
The heroine of the material shared that she does not succumb to social stereotypes and will always defend the importance of family in human success.
– I always complement the phrase "Beauty requires sacrifice".: "...and Mom's nerves." For me, it's not just about appearance, but about all my aspirations. No matter what goals I achieve, no matter how successful I am, my family plays a huge role in this, and especially my mother and younger sister. They are the people I turn to first for help and support. Their strength and hard work are always with me.
In a world full of information noise and other people's opinions, according to the finalist, it is important to be able to distinguish your true desires from those imposed. Alina is lucky that she has already found the sources of her inner strength.
– Actually, it happens when you stop paying attention to the opinion of society. If earlier I could listen to attempts to change my mind, now my stubbornness in character allows me to defend my opinion. But only on condition that I am sure that it is absolutely correct. Reflecting on the global changes that she would like to bring to the world, Alina returned to the topic of personal freedom and respect for other people's beliefs.
– If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
– Perhaps I would change the principles in society. I believe that every person should choose for himself what he likes, what is good for him and what is bad for him. So that no one can put pressure on people. A person's opinion is only his opinion. And it should always be valuable, regardless of whether it seems good, bad or right to someone. A person should learn from his mistakes, and no one should convince him of his choice.
The pursuit of kindness is an important part of Alina's worldview. A positive attitude towards people around her is of great importance to her. In her opinion, it is goodness that can create a harmonious atmosphere around each person, allowing them to feel confident and comfortable.
Many students try their hand at the Miss BNTU – 2026 contest already in their first year, but Alina decided not to rush. When asked why she joined the competition right now, the girl replied that everything has its time.
– I've been thinking about participating for a long time, and even in my first year, the organizers offered me to try my hand. But then I was immersed in other projects and was just starting to get acquainted with the active life of the university. I've always been attracted to beauty and aesthetics, and the Miss BNTU project is about that. Now, as a second-year student, I feel that I am ready to reveal myself to the maximum.
– In your opinion, what qualities should a finalist have?
– Of course, the "Miss" format implies external attractiveness. But if we talk about inner qualities, then this is primarily purposefulness. In my character, it often manifests itself as stubbornness. Someone will consider this a disadvantage, but I consider it my highlight, because in such projects this quality helps a lot. It is also important to be able to see aesthetics in everything, even in discipline and strict schedules. There are a lot of hard rehearsals behind every beautiful picture on stage, and I sincerely appreciate this work.
Alina sees not only the crown as the main goal of participation, but also personal growth and experience in the art of self-presentation. The girl wants people to be inspired and express themselves by watching her performance. The final of the competition is not the ultimate goal of a girl. Looking to the future, Alina clearly understands in which direction she wants to move. The contestant's plans for the near future are dictated by her strong character.
– After a few years, I see myself as a real leader. It's completely in line with my character and it's a quality that I want to develop. So far, I can't imagine myself in any other role.
We thank Alina for a frank conversation and wish you to realize all your most cherished desires.
