On December 18, the second session of the VII All-Belarusian National Assembly began in Minsk, during which President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko addressed a message to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly. The historic event was also attended by representatives of the Belarusian National Technical University: Rector Sergei Kharytonchyk, graduates Nadezhda Tolstikova and Alexey Balysh.
Together with millions of Belarusians, employees of the country's leading technical university watched the broadcast of the Message. In his speech, the First Speaker summed up the results of the economic development of the coming five-year plan, identified unresolved economic tasks and a number of goals that need to be achieved in the coming years.
Many of the theses of the Head of state's speech were devoted to the development of industry, education and the scientific sphere. It is within these areas that the Belarusian National Technical University is actively involved in strengthening the national economy and contributing to its further growth.
In his Message, Alexander Grigorievich repeatedly emphasized the importance of technological sovereignty and energy security of Belarus. Thus, the President noted that energy is a guarantor of economic development and a matter of self-sufficiency of the state.
– The advantages of Belarus in this aspect are obvious. The nuclear power plant that was built has seriously strengthened our energy independence. But we need to raise this level even higher by 2030," Alexander Lukashenko said.
In addition, the head of state set tasks for the domestic engineering and automotive industries:
– Thousands of pieces of equipment come off our assembly lines every year. But we still do not have our own gasoline engine, and we have not mastered the entire range of diesel engines. This means that we need a specific plan of measures to solve these problems. Today, it is important not to miss the global trend in the development of electric transport. It is necessary to increase the production of such equipment at the new MAZ plant and double the capacity of Belkommunmash. It's time for BELGEE to raise the bar and ensure the production of domestic electric vehicles and hybrids at least 10,000 per year.
Regarding the educational sphere, the First one suggested thinking about motivation for learning in the workplace.
– The most important thing is the accessibility of domestic education for Belarusians. And we are world leaders here. In the short term, we need to focus on increasing the flexibility of the vocational education system. The adjustment of educational standards and plans should be carried out in a short time, to meet the needs of customers and the requirements of the economy," the head of state said.
The President is confident that it is necessary to continue reducing the time required for training specialists, but taking into account the intensification of training.
– After lunch, students should work in laboratories, institutions, and enterprises. Then the personnel customers will not say that the youth does not know the real production. And you can pay students a penny. We just need to think about how to do it correctly," the President said.
In his speech, Alexander Grigorievich focused Belarusian education on training new personnel.
– It is the personnel of the new formation that is the main guideline for the education system. We need to train more nano- and biotechnologists, architects and high–class designers," the head of state noted.
After viewing the Message, BNTU employees shared their impressions. Thus, Yaroslav Bazhko, a specialist in the Department of International Programs, Exchanges and Protocol at the Faculty of International Cooperation, Deputy Chairman of the Student Council, noted important thoughts for himself:
– After Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko announced the main achievements of this five-year plan, I found myself thinking that the feeling of pride for my country became even stronger. When you hear concrete results, you realize that there is a lot of work behind the dry figures. These are not just statistics for a report, they are a reflection of how life around us is changing: how enterprises are modernizing, how new jobs are emerging, and how cities are growing. When you see such results, you begin to look at what is happening around you in a different way: to appreciate the work of people more, to believe more in the potential of the country and its capabilities. At the same time, we must all do our best every day for the prosperity of our native Belarus.
– For me, the President's speech was a reminder that important decisions and directions for the development of the state should be discussed openly and honestly. And it is precisely such appeals that help you feel like you are part of a larger process where every citizen matters, – Yaroslav Bazhko added.
For BNTU employees, as well as for the entire Belarusian people, Alexander Lukashenko's address became a significant event for understanding national priorities and goals.
It should be noted that the second session of the VII All-Belarusian National Assembly will continue tomorrow, December 19. The delegates will discuss a number of issues related to the further socio-economic development of the state.
