On August 21, 2025, the Belarusian National Technical University was graced by a delegation from the Embassy of Turkmenistan. The delegation, led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belarus, Nazarkuly Shakulyev, and First Secretary of the Embassy, Myratkhan Achylov, had the primary objective of meeting with Turkmen students at the university and organizing a cultural and educational event to mark the International Year of Peace and Trust, which was declared in Turkmenistan.
The visit to BNTU began with a meeting between Nazarkuly Shakulyev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Oleg Gusev and Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation Pavel Shirvel. Oleg Konstantinovich made a welcoming speech and noted that students from Turkmenistan study at almost all faculties of the Polytechnic University.
– Every year the number of students from Turkmenistan who study with us increases. Today there are almost 600 people. What is important is that they study at almost all faculties of the university, and these are the areas of economics, engineering and industry. We try to bring you trained specialists who are ready to support and develop absolutely all sectors of the economy, business and manufacturing.
Nazarkuly Shakulyev, in turn, thanked the representatives of the university for the warm welcome, after which relevant issues of education and residence of students from Turkmenistan at BNTU were discussed.
Representatives of the Embassy also met with Turkmen students of BNTU. Myratkhan Achylov gave a brief overview of Turkmenistan's international cooperation and recalled the declaration of 2025 in this country as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The students watched a film about the 30th anniversary of neutrality, international cooperation and the International Year of Peace and Trust, and then talked with representatives of the embassy in an open dialogue format.
We thank the representatives of the delegation from Turkmenistan for their visit and hope for further fruitful cooperation.
