Today, on June 26, the IV Eurasian Economic Forum began its work. In 2025, the event is taking place on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, with representatives from 33 countries among its participants.
For reference: the forum was first held in May 2022 in Bishkek, then in May 2023 in Moscow and from September 30 to October 1 in Yerevan. The objectives of the forum are the further development of economic cooperation between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, the formation of cooperative ties between their economic entities, the achievement of a harmonized effect from combining the investment and innovation potentials of the member states of the Union, as well as the development of their export potential.
The forum is dedicated to the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council with the participation of the heads of state of the Eurasian Economic Union. Its main topic is "The Strategy of the Eurasian Economic Integration: results and prospects".
The participation from the Belarusian National Technical University is attended by First Vice-rector Andrei Safonov, Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation Pavel Shirvel, Head of the Department for the Training of Highly qualified scientific Personnel Irina Ustinovich, Deputy Head of the Center for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs, Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Crime Prevention Vitaly Adamovich, Head of the Department of Customs Affairs Yulia Mazanik, Senior lecturer Olga Labkovich, as well as students of the Polytechnic University.
The Belexpo Minsk International Exhibition Center became the venue of the forum, as previously announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov. The platform enables the holding of six large thematic blocks, including 35 events, among which there are plenary sessions, round tables, business dialogues, etc.
Important platforms for discussing relevant issues will be the session "Labor Migration as a resource for Sustainable Economic Growth in the EAEU Member States: creating conditions for attracting and developing qualified and scientific specialists within the EAEU" and the panel session "Single Labor Market: Challenges and Prospects". Andrey Safonov, Pavel Shirvel and Irina Ustinovich will take part in them. The events will help to consider and find solutions to the issues of consistent convergence of qualification requirements, training in the most sought-after professions on the Union's labor market, creating conditions for attracting and developing qualified specialists, information on the results of the implementation of the 2025 Strategies in the field of labor migration and promising areas for further development of the EAEU single labor market.
Andrey Safonov spoke about the importance of discussing these topics:
– Attracting highly qualified personnel is an important resource for maintaining sustainable economic growth in the EAEU member states. BNTU adapts its educational programs to the interests of Belarus within the framework of the organization's agreements: conducts joint educational programs with foreign universities, trains foreign students, forms educational materials and scientific research that meet international quality standards and the needs of the regional labor market. In addition, we actively participate in the implementation of projects aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of education and science among the EAEU member states, which allows creating conditions for increasing the competitiveness of graduates of Belarusian universities at the international level.
In turn, Yulia Mazanik and Olga Labkovich will discuss customs regulation issues in more detail during the panel session "Integrated processes in the field of customs regulation: innovations and economic advantages" and the round tables "Development of checkpoints at the EAEU customs border as a basis for expanding the EAEU transit potential" and "Digital transformation of customs authorities in the EAEU".
– The Customs Union is the basis for the formation of an economic union. Therefore, it is important to consider issues in the field of customs regulation, such as the development of integration processes and promising areas for the development of integration in order to facilitate the expansion of trade with third countries. It is equally important to discuss the role of modern digital technologies in deepening integration processes, as well as the formation of a common transport and logistics space with unified approaches to administration and law enforcement. All these areas were discussed in detail at the panel session," said Yulia Mazanik.
Students of the Polytechnic University will also take part in the events of the forum and attend the award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the third international climate competition "Green Eurasia".
For reference: in 2025, in addition to the EAEU member states, projects from 11 countries took part in this competition. The winners and prize-winners in special nominations will be announced at the ceremony.
