Today, on January 21, Rector of the Belarusian National Technical University Sergei Kharitonchik took part in the early voting at the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
- The country has to make a clear choice and not to stray from the path it has chosen for its development. We need to keep moving forward, build new industries, create innovations and develop new specialties for future professions. I urge everyone to make an informed and considered choice, because we are voting for a clear and distinct future for our country. For young people who are voting for the first time, I recommend listening to the opinion of the older generation. Based on their achievements, we continue to build our society and economy. Most importantly, the older generation, led by the President, has kept peace in our country. Therefore, we should take into account the accumulated experience and vote for our future wisely, - emphasized the Rector.
His example inspired Polytechnic employees and students to fulfill their civic duty and actively support the interests of the prosperous development of our country.
Students also took part in early voting. Denis Syrets, a first-year student of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty, shared his impressions.
- Today I visited a voting precinct for the first time. I believe that this is a very important step not only for me, but also for many young people who will also vote for the first time. At meetings in BNTU various public figures of Belarus always say that we are the future of our country, and today we have an opportunity to influence this future. I believe that one should not stay aside and should consciously participate in different political processes.
The early voting stage will last until January 25, during which the voting precincts will work from 12:00 to 19:00, and on the main day, January 26 - from 08:00 to 20:00. You can find a polling station on the website of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus in the subsection “Precinct Election Commissions” of the section “Election Commissions” or on the websites of district and city executive committees.
