Today, December 13, a ceremonial meeting of the BNTU Council was held within the walls of the Belarusian National Technical University, dedicated to the celebration of the 104th anniversary of the founding of the university.
For reference: every year at the ceremonial meeting of the BNTU Council, the results of the university's work over the past year are summed up, thanks are expressed to the staff and students for their achievements, outstanding partners are awarded, and plans for the future are determined.

The key event that launched the celebration was the opening of the BNTU Honor Board, which annually records the names of 32 honorary employees and 32 honorary students who have made a significant contribution to the development of the university or distinguished themselves in the scientific, educational, cultural and even sports life of BNTU.


The opening of the board in online format was watched by the participants of the ceremonial meeting, who were in the BNTU Hall of Fame. That is why, in his welcoming speech, Rector Sergei Kharytonchyk expressed gratitude to all those who have worked tirelessly for the benefit of their native Polytechnic over the past year.

The honor of adding names to the Honor Board was given to Deputy Director General for Scientific and Technical Development of Peleng OJSC Dmitry Sikorsky, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Sergei Chizhik, Director General of BELAZ OJSC – BELAZ-HOLDING Management Company Sergei Lesin and Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Belarus, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yuri Pleskachevsky. The honored guests included Deputy Director General for Strategic Development and Corporate Management of BELAZ OJSC – BELAZ-HOLDING Management Company Aleksey Grachev and Deputy Director General for Labor Organization, HR Policy and Ideology of BELAZ OJSC – BELAZ-HOLDING Management Company Oleg Klimovich.

The work of the council continued in the Hall of Fame, where Sergei Kharytonchyk addressed the participants of the meeting with a welcoming speech.
– The Belarusian National Technical University turned 104 years old. Just recently we met for the centenary of BNTU, four years flew by like one day. Today we are already walking along the path of the 105th anniversary.

The council's agenda combined a discussion of topical issues of the university's work and honoring the best employees of the Polytechnic. Before the meeting started, video greetings from honorary professors of the BNTU were displayed on the screen.

Following the agenda items of the council, the participants of the meeting were shown two informational films: "Leafing through the series of events... We preserve traditions! We live in the present! We create the future!" (presented by the Deputy Rector for Ideological and Educational Work TimurMatiushinets) and "Patriotism is the basis of a successful personality and a highly qualified specialist" (presented by the Head of the Center for Ideological and Educational Work Victoria Nevodnichaya).


An important part of the meeting was the award ceremony, during which a number of awards took place. The badge and certificate "Honorary Professor of BNTU" were awarded to Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yuri Pleskachevsky and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Sergey Chizhik.


The next stage of the meeting was the signing of cooperation agreements with the country's leading enterprises. Thus, the following documents were signed in a solemn atmosphere:
Dmitry Sikorsky represented the open joint-stock company Peleng, while Sergey Lesin represented OJSC BELAZ, the management company of the holding company BELAZ-HOLDING.


The merits of students, undergraduates and graduates of BNTU were also noted, who were awarded certificates from the special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the social support of gifted students. Among them are:

At the end of the ceremonial council, Rector Sergei Kharytonchyk, together with the guests of honor, launched the countdown to the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian National Technical University.

According to a good tradition, the guests - Yuri Pleskachevsky, Sergey Chizhik and Sergey Lesin - left memorable notes in the book of honored guests of BNTU.
