Today, November 12, the award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the Republican Universiade of the 2023/24 academic year was held in the concert hall of the National Center for Children and Youth Art.
For reference: the Republican Universiade is held annually with the support of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, the Republican Center for Physical Education and Sports of Pupils and Students, as well as the Belarusian Association of Student Sports. This year, representatives of 49 universities of our country took part in it.
At the Universiade, students of the Belarusian National Technical University showed themselves in 27 sports, participating in 39 teams and demonstrating outstanding skill and high athletic training. The hard work and dedication of our athletes brought 17 prize places, which allowed BNTU to take first place in the overall ranking.
During the ceremony, the event organizers presented the cup and honorary awards to the rector of BNTU Sergey Kharitonchik, vice-rector for ideological and educational work Timur Matyushinets, dean of the sports and technical faculty Ivan Belsky and student participants of the Universiade. The winners were supported by representatives of the faculty of the Sports Department of BNTU from the audience with thunderous applause.
The soloists of the vocal and pop studio "Vlyublennaya Dusha" also joined the celebration. The artists performed musical compositions filled with joy and patriotism.
We congratulate the athletes of the Polytechnic University on their well-deserved award and wish them further achievements and resounding victories!
