Today, November 5, an unofficial but very interesting holiday is celebrated – the Day of Looking at Old Photos. We suggest celebrating it together with the Belarusian National Technical University and seeing what Polytechnic was like 10, 20 or even 50 years ago.
There is very little information about who came up with the idea for the Day of Looking at Old Photos and when it was first celebrated. However, thematic materials about it can be found on the websites of libraries and cultural portals. Museums and exhibition halls organize special exhibitions for this holiday, collected from archives of different years.

The holiday can also be called the Day of Memories, which we carefully store in the form of photographs. Yes, we now trust most of them to phones, but you can always turn to family archives collected by our parents, grandparents and other relatives.
A family evening of looking at a whole stack of photos over tea and your favorite treats is a great way to celebrate the Day of Looking at Old Photos.

Members of your family will introduce you to the history of the family, and we will show you what our native Polytechnic University looked like at different times. We will also include the modern appearance of the alma mater along with the old photos.

Happy Day of Looking at Old Photos.and may your precious moments live not only in photos but also in memories!
