Today, October 26, the Belarusian National Technical University held its autumn open day. The applicants had an opportunity to get acquainted with the university and learn firsthand everything and even more about all aspects of getting the profession they want.

Traditionally, the official start of the event was given at a solemn ceremony. Rector of BNTU Sergey Kharitonchik welcomed the audience.
- The choice of profession is an important step on the way for every young person, and it is better to do it once and do it right. You have a unique opportunity to go to each place where our students work, to ask and consult with them. As the rector of the university, of course, I certainly invite you to our university, because I know: it has been tested for many years and decades. We prepare serious, genuine specialists.

The main action of the Open Day took place in the educational building No. 8, where there were stands of faculties, activity zones and a festive stage. Here children could find out all the information they were interested in regarding specialties and faculties, try on different professions and, of course, enjoy creative performances from the teams of the Department of Cultural Affairs BNTU.

Studying the stands of faculties, their representatives received a lot of questions on a variety of topics: from the learning process to the organization of catering on campus. They were answered not only by teachers, but also by students who themselves have recently crossed the Polytechnic threshold.
- We help applicants in choosing their future profession, as we are first-year students ourselves and understand how important it is to get a real opinion about the pros and cons of studying in this or that specialty, - said the volunteers of the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarianization.

The weather forecast for today allowed the organizers not to limit themselves to indoor venues only. In this regard, two exhibitions were held on the territory of Polytechnic: retro cars and production machines.

The unique items for the retro exhibition in the parking lot behind the building No. 9 were provided by the students of the Automobile and Tractor Faculty, while the exposition in front of the main building was organized by the enterprises - customers of personnel.

We learned more about one of the novelties of MAZ-MAN CJSC - the first copy of the electric cargo truck MAZMAN 33101-E1, produced in September 2024.
- Now there is a global trend for electric vehicles, and we are not lagging behind. The direction is new, and we will develop in it based on the market needs. Last year this electric truck was just an idea, but today we are ready to present a full-fledged product, which we brought to the open day. The vehicle is equipped with an electric motor TZ220XS-HD002 with a maximum power of 120 kW and manual transmission with automatic control. The 33101-E1 was assembled in April - May, half a year of operation and certification. We have successfully passed all these stages, - shared the organizers of the exhibition.

Those who got hungry in the process of gaining new knowledge, could eat at the field kitchen from the military-technical faculty. At the same time, the most inquisitive asked their questions at the short meeting with the BNTU management.

The questions were answered by the deputy chairman of the admission committee, the first vice-rector of BNTU Andrey Safonov and the executive secretary of the admission committee, the director of the Institute of integrated forms of education and monitoring of education BNTU Natalia Afanasyeva.

At the end of the event, applicants were provided with consultations on entrance exams, as well as training “How to pass CE and CT with 100 points”. For example, applicants who are planning to enter the architecture program had an opportunity to discuss their portfolios with qualified teachers. The children received counseling on the existing deficiencies and will have time to correct them before admission.

The Open Day has come to an end, but we are not saying goodbye to the applicants and are waiting for new meetings in the walls of the Belarusian National Technical University!
