Yesterday, October 24, 2024, the Belarusian National Technical University hosted the grand opening of the renewed laboratory of the Energy Faculty “High Voltage Technology” named after Nobel Prize winner Zhores Alferov. The new equipment was provided to the faculty by Belenergo.
In the laboratory “High Voltage Technology” various experiments in the field of electric power engineering are conducted, here students can also prepare for future practical activity. They are engaged in the study of processes that take place in electrical installations, learn techniques for measuring the parameters of electrical circuits, assemble circuits and observe the processes taking place.
Now, thanks to the assistance of Belenergo, students and teachers of BNTU will have even more opportunities for research, which they will be able to conduct at the new high-voltage testing installation located in the laboratory.
The grand opening ceremony was held with the participation of Yuri Shmakov, Chief Engineer - First Deputy of Belenergo, Nikolai Pashkovich, Head of Relay Protection and Automation Department of Belenergo, Andrei Safonov, First Vice-Rector, Vadim Petkevich, Head of Electrical Equipment Operation Department of Belenergo, Vadim Sarantsev, Head of Training Center of Minskenergo RUP.
Andrey Safonov shared his impressions after the installation test.
- Today we saw the process of testing protective equipment related to work in electrical installations. As Belenergo specialists stated, these stands fully correspond to the equipment used in real production, and it is the most effective option for practical learning the basics of the future profession.
We thank Belenergo State Production Association for its assistance in strengthening the material and technical base and wish the students and teachers new achievements in the educational process.
