BNTU hosted the Polytech Squad Cup – 2024

В БНТУ прошел Кубок дружин Политеха – 2024

Today, on October 18, the competition "Polytech Squad Cup – 2024" ended, in which 18 teams of the volunteer squad of academic buildings and dormitories of the Belarusian National Technical University took part. The event was organized in two stages and took place over two days – on October 17 and 18. 

The competition was organized on the initiative of the commanders of the volunteer squad and the BNTU Student Council, as well as with the support of the Rector's Office, the Center for Ideological and Educational Work of BNTU.

For reference: The Polytech Squads Cup is a traditional BNTU event and is held in order to develop the student law enforcement movement, promote the activities of student self-government, form skills and abilities of team building, a promising personnel reserve of BNTU volunteer squads, develop leadership qualities and organizational abilities.

The first stage was a sporting one. The guys showed endurance on the obstacle course, which had to be overcome in 8 minutes. It included various tests, such as skipping, short-distance jumping, using a board and sticks to complete a task on a "boat" by a team, accuracy tests, performing a burpee exercise, etc. To successfully pass the obstacles, the participants needed to demonstrate not only physical fitness and dexterity, but also the ability to work in a team.

At the second stage, the intellectual one, the students had to answer 30 questions. The vigilantes showed themselves well in their knowledge of the Criminal and Administrative Codes, the rules of first aid, and demonstrated their erudition.

After all the tests, the volunteer squad went to the assembly hall of the main academic building for the awarding ceremony of the participants and winners of the Polytechnic 2024 Cup of Squads. The event was attended by the rector of BNTU Sergey Kharitonchik, Vice-rector for Ideological and Educational work Timur Matyushinets and Deputy head of the Center for Ideological and Educational Work Irina Gud.

Sergey Vasilyevich addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, in which he noted the importance of holding such events and the high level of its organization.

Timur Vladimirovich presented diplomas and gifts to the contest participants.

So, in the nomination "The best team commander", the commander of the volunteer squad of the 6th dormitory, Semyon Svirkov, was awarded.

Then the most exciting part of the event took place – the awarding of the winners of the Polytech 2024 Squad Cup. The prizes were distributed as follows:

  • the first place was taken by the team of the volunteer squad of the 11th dormitory;
  • the second place was taken by the team of the 2nd academic building volunteer squad;
  • the third place was taken by the team of the volunteer squad of the 17th academic building.

Congratulations to the winners and participants of the event. Representatives of the BNTU volunteer squad are some of the bravest, responsible, strong, initiative and erudite boys and girls of the university. We wish them further victories and success!
