The public association "Belarusian Union of Women" (PA "BUW") was established on December 14, 1991. On a voluntary basis, it unites women in the structural divisions of the organization created in all regions, districts, cities, in many labor collectives and at the place of residence of women. Currently, the union consists of more than 150 thousand women, there are more than 5 thousand primary organizations. The supreme body of the Belarusian Union of Women is the conference, which meets at least once every 5 years. In the period between conferences, the permanent governing body is the Board of the PA "BUW", the executive body is the Presidium of the PA "BUW".
Goals and objectives of the PA "BSW": raising the status of women in society, their role in all areas of the country's life; achievement of civil harmony in society; organization of educational and consulting activities; promoting the protection and improvement of women's health, improving their quality of life; implementation of charitable activities; protecting the rights of women and children, strengthening the family; implementation of international activities by methods of women's diplomacy.
