Today, on June 24, a mini-job fair was held at the Belarusian National Technical University. The event, organized for students and graduates, was a great opportunity for anyone who is thinking about their professional future. The fair was held in the lobby of the 8th educational building of the Belarusian National Technical University, where students could meet with representatives of HR departments.
Leading enterprises and organizations of the country presented their vacancies. For visitors, the fair was an opportunity to learn about job opportunities, working conditions, and career prospects. Timur Matyushinets, Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work at the Belarusian National Technical University, emphasized the importance of such events.
— The job fair allows students to meet with representatives of enterprises and find their future employer. Today, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus presented a number of organizations that employ students not only during the summer, but also throughout the year. The job fair is intended for active students who not only study, but also support themselves from their junior years. This is very important, as students who work in their field of study can gain practical experience in their future profession from their junior years.
Olga Chavlytko, a leading HR specialist at REMPUT of the Belarusian Railway, shared information about the specific skills required by the company.
— We, the Belarusian Railway, are responsible for the repair, laying, and restoration of railways. We also have the Dubravy sand quarry. Therefore, we are in dire need of mining engineers and surveyors, specifically from the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering. Our foremen earn 2,400 rubles, excluding seniority. As a railway company, our salaries are heavily influenced by seniority, with higher salaries for longer service. A surveyor earns 2,600 rubles. We also need machine operators and repair technicians, as well as loading and unloading specialists, including energy specialists. We would love to have you all.
As the students noted, the mini-job fair is a great opportunity to meet several companies in one place at the same time.
— I really enjoyed it, it was useful and interesting. I was able to meet representatives of several companies and learn about internships and job opportunities that I didn't know about. The fair gives you the opportunity to understand what is really in demand on the market right now, and to decide on a direction," said Victoria Litvinova, a student at the Faculty of Economics.
Representatives of the BNTU Labor Affairs Department also worked at the fair. Roman Zhukovich, Deputy Secretary of the BNTU Student Union, spoke about student teams.
"There are currently 28 teams at BNTU. A new team, the Economic Team, has just started. Students who have graduated with degrees in logistics and economics can work directly in banks. Information about student teams is passed on through the secretaries of the faculties. We have an innovation: in order to join a student team, you must be a member of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.
It is worth noting that student teams provide an opportunity to earn money for their needs, as well as influence the allocation of dormitories for students.
— The student team operates all year round, not just during the summer. Working in a team also offers financial benefits, as the tax rate is only 4% instead of the standard 13%, and a dormitory is provided for the duration of the work, — said Roman.
The mini-job fair at BNTU has become an effective platform for direct dialogue between students and employers, helping young professionals take their first step towards a successful career.
