Representatives of BNTU laid flowers in memory of the heroes and victims of the Great Patriotic War

Представители БНТУ возложили цветы в память о героях и жертвах Великой Отечественной войны

Today, on June 22, a solemn ceremony of laying flowers to the stele of students and teachers of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute who died during the Great Patriotic War was held at the Belarusian National Technical University. The event was held as part of the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People.

The event was attended by Timur Matyushinets, Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work, Irina Gud, Head of the Center for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs, Ekaterina Shavanova, Deputy Head of the Center for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs, Oksana Smolskaya, Head of the Department of the Center for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs, and activists from the BNTU youth organizations.

The ceremony began with a national minute of silence, during which the metronome's beats echoed mournfully throughout the country. Representatives of BNTU shared the collective grief with millions of Belarusians. In those moments, no words were spoken, and the silence spoke volumes, reminding us of the tragic pages of history and the value of peace.

After the minute of silence, the participants of the ceremony laid flowers at the foot of the stele. One by one, students and representatives of the university's leadership approached the memorial, leaving red roses at the commemorative sign. Each of those present paid tribute to those who fought for peace on our land.

The memory of those who died is not just a respect for the past, but the foundation of the young people's civic consciousness. The people's feat is not forgotten, and BNTU remembers and honors the heroes.
