Yesterday, May 14, a formal awards ceremony was held at the Belarusian National Technical University to honor the winners of four university competitions. This event culminated in the significant and important work carried out throughout the academic year by faculty leadership, faculty, and student groups.
Vice-Rector for Research Ksenia Yakushenko opened the ceremony, expressing her sincere gratitude to her colleagues for their daily contribution to the future of young people:
— Dear friends, colleagues! Your work requires tremendous effort, as curatorship, ideological, and educational work is a difficult and extremely responsible task. Every student must be your focus; you must know each one personally, which is a tremendous undertaking. You remember the names of those you need to speak with at the right time, and how to properly guide and reassure the student. This kind of engagement is highly valued by the Rector's office and the Rector personally. I thank you for taking on this important task and for accomplishing it so successfully. I sincerely congratulate you and express my support in this challenging endeavor. I wish you good health, and let us work together for the benefit of BNTU and our country!
After the welcoming remarks, the awards ceremony began. Based on the results of the annual competition for the best organization of ideological and educational work among the faculties, the awards were distributed as follows:
First place – Faculty of Energy (EF);
Second place – Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarian Studies (FTUG);
Third place – Faculty of Architecture (AF).
Diplomas for outstanding performance in individual areas were also awarded to:
"Best Organization of Ideological Education" nomination — Engineering and Pedagogical Faculty (EPF);
"Best Organization of Civic and Patriotic Education" nomination — Military-Technical Faculty (MTF);
"Best Organization of the Volunteer Movement" nomination — Automobile and Tractor Faculty (ATF).
The program continued with the award ceremony for the winners of the "Best Curator of BNTU – 2025" competition. The teachers served as reliable guides to the world of university traditions for their groups. The best first-year curators were:
First place – Anna Filimonova, lecturer in the Foreign Languages Department of the Faculty of Technical and Governance;
Second place went to Valeria Vasilevskaya, lecturer in the Department of Technology and Teaching Methods at the Institute of Applied Physics;
Third place went to Irina Nedashkovskaya, senior lecturer in the Department of Hydrotechnical and Power Engineering, Water Transport, and Hydraulics at the Faculty of Power Engineering (FEP).
Additionally, certificates for active participation in mentoring first-year students were awarded as part of the "Best BNTU Curator – 2025" competition to the following teachers:
Sergey Bete, senior lecturer in the Department of Internal Combustion Engines at the Faculty of Applied Physics;
Elena Buloychik, associate professor in the Department of Power Plants at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering;

The ceremony continued with awards to second-year curators who help students develop their talents in science and creativity. The top three were determined as follows:

Second place – Kristina Pavlovskaya, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics;

Equally important was the recognition of the faculties that achieved the highest results in organizing and implementing crime prevention activities for BNTU students. Awards were presented by Major Aleksandr Tsuba, Deputy Commander of the Patrol and Guard Police Company of the Internal Affairs Department of the Sovietsky District Administration of Minsk, to the following employees:
First place – IPF;
Second place – MSF;
Third place – WTF.
The final stage of the ceremony included the summing up of the results of the video contest for the "BNTU Students for a Healthy Lifestyle" campaign. BNTU Student Council Chairman Aleksandr Malashko awarded the best creative teams:
First place – VTF team;
Second place – FMS team;
Third place – FGDIE team.
Ideological and educational work is a challenging and responsible endeavor, requiring strength, patience, and the ability to find a personal connection with each student. It is the mentors and teachers who help students not only master their profession but also become worthy citizens of their country. We congratulate the winners on their well-deserved awards and wish them success in their professional and social endeavors.
