With the aim of popularizing the Chinese language among BNTU students, the Department of "Foreign Languages" of the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanities actively participates in international competitions and conferences. One of them was the First Hard Pen Calligraphy Competition – "The Spirit of Chinese Poetry." The competition was organized at the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology of the Belarusian National Technical University. It gathered talented participants from various countries, striving to demonstrate not only knowledge of characters but also artistic skill, brush mastery, and the conveyance of the spirit of Chinese writing. BSUT students studying Chinese within courses at the Faculties of Automotive and Tractor Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, Civil Engineering, and the Faculty of Management Technology and Humanization, under the guidance of Chinese language teacher Anna Fyodorovna Filimonova, actively participated in the competition with accuracy, expressiveness, and originality.The students prepared thoroughly, honing their technique of writing characters, studying various styles of calligraphy, and striving to convey the depth of meaning of each symbol. Their works were distinguished by neatness, expressiveness, and originality.

During the competition, the students presented their best calligraphic works, each imbued with meticulous effort and a creative approach. The evaluation of the works was carried out by an authoritative jury consisting of recognized masters of Chinese calligraphy. As a result of the competition, BNTU students won several prize places, namely: 1st place – Vyshkovskaya Milana Andreevna (group 11203125), 3rd place – Glebov Stanislav Dmitrievich (group 10801123).

This competition once again confirmed that BNTU students are ready to study one of the most difficult languages in the world and are capable of representing their university with dignity, fostering international cooperation and cultural exchange. Calligraphy is not just writing, but an art that requires patience, precision, and spiritual harmony. Students, demonstrating their talents, contributed to the preservation and promotion of a unique cultural heritage – the calligraphic writing of characters.
