Leading Universities of Belarus at the International Exhibition in Jakarta

Ведущие вузы Беларуси на международной выставке в Джакарте

From July 21 to 24, 2026, the International Hospitality, Food and Beverage Industry Exhibition "FHI – Food & Hospitality Indonesia" took place in Jakarta, Indonesia. As part of the national pavilion under the "Made in Belarus" brand, Belarusian companies showcased their products at the event, which brought together over 700 exhibitors from approximately 40 countries.

For reference: Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and ranks 7th globally in terms of purchasing power parity (USD 5 trillion). In 2025, the country's GDP per capita reached USD 5,074, with economic growth of 5.11%, driven in large part by the manufacturing sector. Indonesia's natural resource base includes substantial deposits of oil, natural gas, hard and brown coal, as well as iron, copper, nickel, tin, and bauxite ores.
For Belarus, the comprehensive development of cooperation with Indonesia remains an unequivocal priority of its foreign economic policy. According to estimates by the International Trade Centre, the greatest export potential for Belarus in the Indonesian market lies in dried milk and dairy products, agricultural machinery, and urban electric transport. In addition, Belarus is prepared to meet the growing demand of the Indonesian economy for medical equipment, security and surveillance systems, as well as computer and information services.

The official opening ceremony of the exposition was attended by Aleksandr Yakovchits, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus; Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Minister of Tourism of Indonesia; Roman Romanovsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Indonesia; and Natalya Kurash, Director of the Exhibition Enterprise "Belinterexpo" at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The collective stand of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, organized by the Belarusian National Technical University, featured approximately 30 innovative developments from the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian State University of Food and Chemical Technologies, and the private unitary enterprise "Tender-Agro" – a resident of the state-run "Polytechnic" Science and Technology Park of BNTU.
