Continuing our acquaintance with the participants of the Miss BNTU – 2026 contest, we present Elizaveta Poshelyuk, a second-year student of the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy. The girl understands the main theme of the project "Take a step towards yourself" as a path inextricably linked with self-improvement.
– I understand the steps to self-awareness as an opportunity to become a little better and more elegant. This is a kind of self-improvement, striving for a more refined and harmonious image.

The last year has been a time of real discoveries for the girl. As it turned out, a fragile appearance hides a lot of energy and a thirst for knowledge in the field of extreme sports and music.
– I discovered an amazing trait in myself: I can't sit still, I constantly need to come up with something new. Literally in the last six months, snowboarding and synthesizer classes have appeared in my life. At the same time, I love skating. I like the fast pace of life, and I would never trade it for staying at home.
– How do you manage to combine so many hobbies with study and leisure?
– Now studying is quite easy for me, so I have enough free time. I try to make the most of my weekends: I go out with friends, try something new, and I'm on the move. For me, Saturday and Sunday are a time for business and self–development.
Elizabeth sees her inner beauty and strength in such diversity. She is sure that it is the beauty of the soul and the rich inner world that make a person attractive to others.
– Inner beauty is more important. Perhaps from the outside it seems that there is more of the outside in me, but I feel that it is the inner world that is my foundation. I am always honest and sincere both with others and with myself. With any person, even in a new team, I always remain the way I am. I really appreciate sincerity in other people, I am always ready to help and open to communication. It's easy to start a conversation with me, and I think my responsiveness is a manifestation of that inner beauty.

The finalist was able to be more active and sociable at the university. The student environment became an important source of inspiration for her: it was the environment that helped her expand her range of interests and find new hobbies.
– I often watch my friends, the guys from the band. Their hobbies turn out to be so contagious that I also want to try them. I'm not afraid to approach, ask, ask for advice or help. It is thanks to the support of friends and buddies that I am now learning to play the synthesizer.
– What is more important to you in the process of completing some tasks - achievements or self–development?
– In choosing between achievements and self-knowledge, I give priority to the latter, considering the path to myself more valuable than the final result. For me, self-knowledge is more important than any title. An achievement is simply the result of the work done. But the path itself, the process of discovering new facets in oneself, is true success. Through understanding your true desires, you can achieve much more than just material rewards.
By the way, Elizabeth has reached impressive heights in one of her favorite activities – rhythmic gymnastics. Thanks to training, she became stronger and more resilient.
– My most significant achievement at the moment is the title of candidate for Master of Sports in rhythmic gymnastics. I was a member of the national team of Belarus, represented the country at international competitions in Lithuania and Israel. I took the third place in Lithuania, and it was a very important result for me. The emotions of winning are the most pleasant feeling in the world. When I realized that I had gone a long way to prepare and won a prize, I felt a real triumph. Such moments remain in the memory forever. Then for another week I could just look at those cups, medals and photos, reliving those happy seconds.
Today, in terms of developing her skills, the girl has moved away from sports a little. The main priority for her was the development of public speaking. Elizabeth works on the quality of her speech to feel confident on stage.
– Right now, my main priority is public speaking. I study a lot at home, I try to hone this skill. Sometimes fear appears on stage, I can start to stumble, but I continue to practice in order to become as confident as possible in front of the audience.

Fighting the fear of performing in public was one of the reasons why Elizabeth came to the casting of the Miss BNTU - 2026 contest. Also, the main impulse to take part was the experience of a friend and the support of the guys from the faculty, who persuaded them to try their hand in the first year.
– It all started with a conversation with a friend who participated in the Student of the Year. She talked a lot about how everything went with them, and it really hooked me. Besides, I've already had two auditions under my belt: one at a modeling agency, and the second at Miss Minsk. Each of them was a small but important step forward. I am also very inspired by my faculty and the support I feel. They believed in me last year, but then I still didn't make up my mind. In my freshman year, I was very insecure. I've become more courageous now, and it's all thanks to the people around me. This time I decided it was definitely worth a try.
The girl believes that the participant must initially have a certain set of qualities in order to have a chance of winning.
– Finalists should not only be beautiful in appearance, but also be able to work in a team, be kind and sociable. Girls can't just shut themselves off from everyone and go to victory alone, pursuing only their own interests.
– In the modern world, society is constantly putting pressure on us. How can you distinguish your true desires from the imposed ones in this stream of opinions?
– It's difficult, but it's possible. You need to try yourself in everything. Even if it seems to you that some idea was imposed by society, it's still worth taking the risk. It is only through experience and a lot of attempts that you can truly understand yourself and your interests.

And although a girl knows how to distinguish her desires from those imposed, it is still her goal to achieve the necessary level of courage and self-confidence.
– Everyone who came to the casting was excited. Probably, one hundred percent courage simply does not happen. But I want to continue to develop this quality in myself, so that in the future I will never be afraid to try something new.
– And what is your main goal of participating in the competition? What would you like to get besides a title?
– I would like to inspire people to look at me on stage and understand that they can do this too. If there is a desire, then everything will work out, because nothing is impossible.
After the final of the competition, the girl plans to continue to develop comprehensively. To the question "Who do you see yourself in a couple of years?" the girl replied like this:
– I see myself as ambitious as possible. I'm already trying myself in different fields, but after a while I want to do more than I do now and not stop.
We thank Elizabeth for the interview. We are confident that she will achieve her goals and perform excellently in the final of the competition.
