The cultural life of the Belarusian National Technical University in 2025 was filled with anniversaries, festivals, competitions, and exciting projects that brought together students, faculty, and creative groups from the university. BNTU's creative groups participated in the national public and cultural event "Unity Marathon"
At the beginning of the year, the creative teams of the Department of Culture at BNTU joined the large-scale republican social and cultural event "Marathon of Unity," which took place throughout Belarus. In late January, the final gala concert of the cultural and patriotic festival "Minsk United" was held at the Sports Palace. The soloists of the vocal and pop studio "In Love with the Soul," who successfully passed the district and city selection stages, were invited to perform at this event. Their performance was accompanied by the Presidential Orchestra, and they performed the final song "Time Has Chosen Us" with other artists.
On January 24, the final concert of the Unity Marathon took place on the stage of the Minsk Arena, attracting more than 10,000 spectators. The People's Choral Capella of the Department of Culture at BNTU performed two pieces at the event. Together with Valery Shmat, an Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, the ensemble performed the song "We Are Belarusians." Towards the end of the concert, the legendary composition "Malitva" by Vladimir Mulyavin was played. This performance provided valuable experience and left a lasting impression on the participants.
The Jubilee Spring of BNTU
In 2025, the main festival of student creativity, Spring of BNTU, celebrated its 50th anniversary. The anniversary celebration brought together more than 700 talented students, who presented dance, vocal, theatrical, and musical performances during the competition days. Each day of Spring became a vibrant show, where students showcased their creativity, skill, and bold ideas.
Traditionally, the festival lasted for 5 days: 4 competitive days and a large-scale gala concert. Professional choreographers, famous artists, and art experts were invited as the jury, which once again emphasized not only the high level of the event itself, but also the performance skills of its participants.
The festival culminated in a gala concert, where the best performances were showcased and the winners were awarded. Thus, the Grand Prix of the anniversary "Spring" was deservedly awarded to the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarization, and the event's eventful days once again demonstrated that it is more than just a festival!
"In Commemoration of the Great Victory"
In 2025, the Department of Culture successfully implemented the Cultural Project "In Commemoration of the Great Victory," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War. The project included a military-patriotic song contest called "Memory of the Heart," a film screening called "Roads of Victory," and an event called "Victory Waltz."
A special rally was held in front of the main building: Levitan's words were heard, war songs were played, cadets and foreign students marched in a parade, and the audience laid flowers at the stele.
The final event of the cultural project was a large two-hour concert "Dedicated to the Great Victory," which took place on June 7 at the open-air venue near the Town Hall in the Upper Town as part of the musical and tourist season in Minsk. This event was organized at the invitation of the Minsk City Executive Committee. All of the department's creative teams presented themed performances and joined forces to create joint acts. The project served as a symbol of respect for the past and a commitment to peace, reminding us that the memory of the people's heroic deeds connects generations.
45th Anniversary of the People's Choir Capella
Last year, the People's Choir Capella celebrated its 45th anniversary. The concert took place on May 22 and was a true celebration of choral art. The concert featured spiritual music, as well as Belarusian folk songs and contemporary compositions by both domestic and foreign authors.
The concert was attended by the exemplary choir of the I. O. Akhremchik Gymnasium-College of Arts, who performed several choral compositions. At the end of the concert, the chapel's directors were awarded certificates for their many years of work and their contribution to the spiritual and aesthetic education of the student community.
The graduation ceremony
The graduation ceremony for the BNTU students was a highlight of the academic year. In late June, another important event took place: the graduation ceremony for the BNTU students. This evening was a culmination of all the hard work and dedication that the students had put in throughout their studies. In a solemn atmosphere, students who excelled in science, culture, and sports were awarded certificates of merit, medals "Excellent Student of BNTU", and, of course, diplomas.
After the ceremony, the graduates were invited to a gala reception in their honor. Exciting dances, favorite songs performed by the soloists of the "Soul in Love" vocal and pop studio, and important words filled the last evening in the walls of their beloved Polytechnic University.
Grand Prix at Fest‑ART.by‑2025
The Department of Culture of the BNTU was awarded the highest award - the Grand Prix - at the Republican Festival of Creativity of Foreign Students "Fest‑ART.by‑2025". The BNTU project was selected to participate in the final Gala Concert of the Republican Festival of Creativity of Foreign Students "Fest-ART.by-2025".
The festival was held at the National Center for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth and brought together more than 500 participants from Belarusian universities under the motto "From Our Homeland to All Nations: Let's Explore the World Together!" The Department of Culture presented its creative project "Belarus is One for All," which was attended by soloists from the "In Love with the Soul" vocal and pop studio, as well as students from the Faculty of International Cooperation. As a result of the festival-competition, the students of the Faculty of International Cooperation were awarded first-degree diplomas in several categories.
The solemn line "First-year student of BNTU - 2025"
After the completion of the admission campaign and the settlement in the dormitories for already students of the Polytechnic, the most beautiful time has come – student life. The academic year began with a large-scale line "First-year student - 2025", which brought together thousands of first-year students.
Traditionally, outstanding first-year students who have proven themselves even before admission are invited to press the cherished start button. This year, the honor was bestowed upon a first-year student who graduated with a gold medal from the BNTU Lyceum, a winner of the national "Technointelligence" competition, and a graduate of the National Children's Technology Park, Maya Safiullina, and a first-year student who graduated with a gold medal from high school, Kirill Poletaev, a graduate of the engineering class.
Additionally, the stage witnessed the launch of the BNTU Jubilee Fire Relay, which then traveled to leading enterprises and partner organizations, bringing together BNTU students. Valery Ivankovich and Sergey Vyazovich were the first to receive the torch. The event marked the beginning of the academic year and showed that student life at the Polytechnic University begins with inspiration and pride.
The 50th Anniversary of the Satrap Theatre
The Satrap Theatre, a popular student theatre, celebrated its 50th anniversary. To mark this significant event, a grand celebration was held at the university on November 18, 2025, bringing together both current members of the theatre and theatre enthusiasts. The anniversary program was a creative report and a celebration at the same time: the actors presented theatrical performances, musical numbers, and video sketches from the life of the theater. This evening was not only a summation of half a century of history, but also a starting point for new and bold plans.
The theater, founded back in 1975, has had a colorful creative journey. Today, Satrap is a living talent laboratory where students discover themselves, learn to work in a team, and provide sincere emotions to the audience.
IX Festival of Belarusian Culture
In early December, the festival-contest "Belarus is Us!" brightly brought the year to a close at the Polytechnic. The event became a real bridge between the past and the present: ancient Belarusian traditions intertwined with modern forms of art, and the sincerity of the performers touched the depths of the soul. Each performance was not just a show, but a declaration of love for one's native land. The audience noted the special atmosphere of unity, as the applause never ceased, and the audience wholeheartedly supported the performers.
For example, the students from the Faculty of Architecture impressed the audience with their performance, showcasing a blend of humor and elements of Belarusian culture. The audience was also captivated by the vocal abilities of a cadet from the Faculty of Military Engineering, who performed the song "Khatabatskou" in Belarusian.
The prize-winning places of the festival-competition were distributed as follows:
1st place – Faculty of Architecture;
2nd place – Faculty of Energy, Faculty of Management Technology and Humanitarization;
3rd place – Faculties of Energy Construction and Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship.
The Festival of Belarusian Culture at BNTU has traditionally been a platform where students can express themselves, feel a sense of belonging to national traditions, and at the same time show how they see Belarus today.
The Christmas Ball
The year ended with a Christmas ball dedicated to the 105th anniversary of BNTU. More than 60 pairs of students danced polonaises and waltzes, live music played, and the best students received awards. The evening was filled with not only the smooth notes of the dance compositions, but also the laughter of the guests, the greetings from Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, and the sound of heels as the students danced in lively circles. The ball became a symbol of beauty, tradition, and unity, and a fitting end to the anniversary year.
Thus, the year 2025 went down in the history of the Belarusian National Technical University as a time of bright anniversaries, loud victories, and cultural discoveries. Folk groups confirmed their high skill, students demonstrated leadership qualities and creative courage, and festivals and competitions became a platform for friendship, exchange of traditions, and new ideas. Each project showed that university culture lives and develops, uniting generations and inspiring new achievements.
BNTU continues to create a space where each student's talent becomes part of the university's shared history, and the Polytechnic's cultural life remains a symbol of unity, creativity, and a commitment to the future.
