В БНТУ прошла презентация проектов по восстановлению памятников, посвященных Великой Отечественной войне

Today, February 17, the Belarusian National Technical University hosted a presentation of students' projects dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition was attended by Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work Timur Matyushinetz, Acting Head of the Department of “Drawing, Watercolor and Sculpture” Ksenia Shappo and Chairman of the Kolodishcha Veterans Organization Valery Olovyannikov.

Timur Matyushinetz gave a welcoming speech.

- The work on restoring the monuments is carried out with the help of the student Council and the volunteer movement. A lot of work is being done to reconstruct a large number of monuments and memorial complexes. Today, a representative of the Kolodishchanskaya veterans' organization visited us with an initiative to develop a memorial project dedicated to the partisan movement. In turn, the Faculty of Architecture developed two versions of the model, and Valery Petrovich will choose the best one. Much is being done now to inform the younger generation about this tragedy, especially in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory. I think this is an important area that should be supported. I also hope for the help of students, who are restoring and creating all this work.

After his speech, Timur Vladimirovich gave the floor to Ksenia Shappo, who spoke about the project of the already restored monument, as well as about the sketches presented at the exhibition.

After viewing all the works, Valery Olovyannikov expressed gratitude to the students who were actively involved in developing the projects, because thanks to their ideas and initiative, the memory of the terrible events will remain for a long time and will be passed down through generations.

- This story is, first of all, a memory that must remain. 80 years have passed since our victory, but not all the documents about victims have been studied, not all the names of the heroes have been immortalized, but still, 80 years later, we are studying and investigating these cases. Thank you, younger generation, for covering those historical events.

We thank Valery Petrovich for his visit and the students of the Belarusian National Technical University for the work done in developing projects for the restoration of monuments.
