“Finished first again!” – golden hat-trick of BNTU student Anton Smolsky

«Вновь финишировал первым!» – золотой хет-трик студента БНТУ Антона Смольского

Today, January 7, the men's 15-kilometer mass start at the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup stage took place in Raubichi. BNTU student Anton Smolsky finished first again.

In the 15-kilometer mass start, Anton made a mistake at the second and third firing lines, that is why he approached the final stand the seventh. However, thanks to accurate shooting and misfires of competitors, he ran to the final loop the second, after a Russian Rustam Kayumov. On the final lap, Anton Smolsky overtook his opponent and finished first again.

Students of the branch of BNTU "Minsk State Technological College", together with the head of physical education, Alexander Martsulevich, visited the Regional Center for Winter Sports "Raubichi". Despite the January frosts, the support group fervently cheered for Anton Smolsky and other Belarusian athletes.

Let us also recall that on January 5 and 6, Anton Smolsky won two victories in the sprint and pursuit. Thus, Anton scored a golden hat-trick at the home stage of the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup.

According to the results of the competition, Anton Smolsky consolidated his position in the ranking and occupies the leading position.

About his third victory in a row, Anton Smolsky said that he took advantage of the chance that his opponents provided.

– In general, the race was dynamic, the sliding was fast, I didn’t even have time to figure out what was happening, I was working, one might say, automatically. Thanks to pre-season training, I didn’t have to think about what actions I should take at one time or another, I just did what I knew how to do through muscle memory.

The Belarusian National Technical University congratulates its student on another enchanting victory, is proud and wishes Anton success at the final stage of the Commonwealth Cup, which will be held in April in Murmansk.
