In order to provide staffing for the reform of the secondary general education school, the Belarusian State Polytechnic Academy began training teachers for polytechnic education of schoolchildren in 1996. In order to improve the quality of training of pedagogical specialists, in 2001, by the decision of the BSPA Council at the Faculty of Engineering and Education, the graduating department "Technology and Teaching Methods" was created, which from 2001 to 2009 was headed by a graduate of the IAP, Ph.D., associate professor Chernovets Vasily Ivanovich. Since 2009, the department has been headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Petyushik Evgeny Evgenievich, since 2018 - Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Drobysh Alexey Anatolyevich. The department trains specialist in the specialty 6-05-0719-01 "Engineering and Pedagogical Activities" profiling "Applied Programming", qualification: Engineer. Teacher. The key idea of the specialty is to train students in various activities and focus on training teaching staff with higher education to work in vocational, secondary specialized, higher education systems, as well as in the field of IT technologies. Students study programming technology and algorithmization methods (Pascal, Delphi, Visual Basic, C ++, C #, Java), computer architecture and software, modern IT in education, work on the Internet and study the very topology of networks, master computer graphics and Web design, write codes in php, html, java, get skills in working in the AutoCAD design system. After completing the first stage of education, graduates can continue their studies in the magistracy in the specialty 7-06-0111-01 "Scientific and Pedagogical Activities" profiling "Pedagogy of Vocational Education", after successful completion of which, receive a master's degree, and subsequently continue their studies in graduate school. Graduates receive fundamental knowledge in the field of social and humanitarian, natural sciences, general professional and special disciplines.
