Department : Tractors

The department "Tractors" was founded in 1953. Employees of the department are actively involved in the creation of new models of mobile machines at OAO MTZ, OAO MZKT, OAO Belkommunmash, OAO Amkodor, etc. The Department of Tractors is the leading scientific school for wheeled and tracked vehicles with technological complexes destination. The composition of the teachers combines the whole complex of requirements of modern machine-building production, scientific research, the creation of new machine designs, their production and operation. The educational process is organized by the "Tractors" department together with the leading departments of the autotractor and energy faculties. By order of enterprises and organizations, the department can carry out in-depth training of graduates in various areas, including in the field of computer-aided design, microprocessor control and diagnostic systems, research and testing of vehicles with automatic traction electric drive, as well as devices for their power supply. In 1975, by a joint order of the Ministers of Tractor and Agricultural Engineering of the USSR and Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the BSSR, the Wheel Tractors Department was organized at the Minsk Tractor Plant. This made it possible to bring the educational process closer to production based on the use of the experience of highly qualified personnel of the plant and its material and technical base. The department "Wheel tractors" was located on the premises of the Minsk Tractor Plant and worked under the methodological guidance of the department "Tractors" BNTU, using factory equipment and areas for educational purposes. Since 2011, the department "Wheeled tractors" has been transformed into a branch of the department "Tractors" of BNTU at OJSC "Minsk Tractor Plant". On September 1, 2008, a branch of the Tractors department was established at the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. At the Tractors Department, patent and licensing work is actively carried out, and scientific and technical cooperation is carried out with a number of universities in Poland: Warsaw Agricultural University, Warsaw; Agrarian Technical Academy, Bydgoszcz; Plock branch of the Warsaw University of Technology, city of Plock. In the educational process at the Tractors Department, modern teaching technologies are widely used, including information technologies for the integrated design of machines based on automated workstations of the designer, the local computer network of the department has access to the Internet. The department operates magistracy and postgraduate studies. Research work is carried out within the framework of the second half of the teaching staff, grants, contracts with enterprises and government programs. During the previous five-year period (2016 - 2020), the following R&D was carried out:

- within the framework of the second half of the teaching staff day "Development of the methodology for selecting parameters and designing mobile machines and their systems" (supervisor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boikov);

- grant of undergraduate Drozd I.A. “Assessment of the load on the transmission of a 4x4 tractor when moving over unevenness and ways to reduce it” (supervisor, Ph.D., associate professor C.I. Zhdanovich);

- contract 700/18s "Development of an algorithm for controlling traction and air pressure in tires to achieve the optimal traction and dynamic characteristics of a car" (supervisor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.V. Guskov);

- within the framework of the SPNI for 2016-2020 "Mechanics, metallurgy, diagnostics in mechanical engineering", subprogram "Mechanics" 4 tasks:

1.24 Development of a methodology for selecting the parameters of ultra-low pressure tires for agricultural machines (supervisor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boikov);

1.29 Development of the theory of high-altitude regulation of semi-mounted and mounted units in order to increase their grip weight by means of a virtual support wheel (supervisor Ph.D., associate professor C.I. Zhdanovich);

1.53 Coordination of the controlled parameters of power-saturated tractors with the characteristics of tillage machines and agricultural requirements (supervisor Ph.D., associate professor Ch.I. Zhdanovich);

1.54 Construction of a system for regulating the position of the platform of a mobile machine (supervisor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boikov).

Currently, the following research projects are being carried out at the department:

- within the framework of the second half of the teaching staff day “Improving the methodology for selecting parameters and designing mobile machines and their systems” (supervisor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boikov);

- international project "Develop an energy-saving stand for functional and accelerated testing of tractor transmissions with simulation of load conditions that occur during agricultural work" (supervisor Ph.D., associate professor C.I. Zhdanovich).

Over the years of activity, the Tractors Department has trained more than two thousand specialists for the national economy. The department completed and defended 15 doctoral and more than 80 master's theses. Its employees have published more than 340 monographs, textbooks and manuals, published more than 1600 articles, created more than 1100 inventions, completed and defended 15 doctoral and 78 master's theses. Department "Hydropneumoautomatics and hydraulic drive", Ivut R.B. - head. Department of Economics and Management in Transport, Molokovich A.D. - head. Department of "Logistics" of the Institute of Business and Technology Management of Belarusian State University, Zeleny P.V. - head. Department of Engineering Graphics. Heads of design schools studied at the department: Uss I.N. - Former General Designer of PO MTZ, Director of Scientific and Technical Center RUE MTZ; Amelchenko P.A. and Meleshko M.G. - former general designers of GSKB MTZ; Korobkin V.A. - chief designer for special equipment at MTZ OJSC, head of UKER-2; and also Matusevich M.V. - former deputy chairman of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus, former deputy chairman of the Council of the Republic; Chalovsky E.V. - Former First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus; Yatskovsky V.M. - former First Deputy General Director of MTZ OJSC. The staff of the department created a set of textbooks and teaching aids, for which in 1996 they were awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus prof., Doctor of Technical Sciences. V.P. Boikov, prof., Ph.D. CM. Belov, prof., doctor of technical sciences V.V. Guskov, prof., Doctor of Technical Sciences N.V. Bogdan, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Yu.E. Atamanov. A number of employees of the department were awarded honorary titles of the Republic of Belarus: Prof., Doctor of Technical Sciences. V.P. Boikov, Prof., Doctor of Technical Sciences A.M. Sologub - "Honored Inventor"; prof., d.t.s. V.V. Guskov - "Honored Worker of Science and Technology". Prof., d.t.s. OH. Lefarov was awarded the title of "Honored Machine Builder", prof., Ph.D. CM. Belov - "Honored Worker of Higher Education".
