Scientific Research
Main directions of scientific activity at the department:
- Development and research of tractors, mobile machines, their units, and assemblies;
- Research on the aggregation of tractors with agricultural machinery;
- Study of electric and autonomous vehicles;
- Finite element method strength calculations;
- Development of computer programs for modeling the operation of mobile machines, electric and autonomous vehicles, and agricultural machinery units.
Over the past five years, the department's staff has completed the international Belarusian-Chinese project "Development of an energy-saving test stand for functional and accelerated testing of tractor transmissions with simulation of load modes occurring during agricultural work" (scientific supervisor Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Ch.I. Zhdanovich) and 4 tasks under the State Program of Scientific Research "Mechanics, Metallurgy, and Diagnostics in Mechanical Engineering", subprogram "Mechanics":
- Task 1.24 Development of a methodology for selecting parameters of ultra-low pressure tires for agricultural machines (scientific supervisor Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boykov);
- Task 1.29 Development of the theory of height adjustment of semi-mounted and mounted implements to increase their traction weight using a virtual support wheel (scientific supervisor Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Ch.I. Zhdanovich);
- Task 1.53 Harmonization of controlled parameters of energy-intensive tractors with characteristics of soil cultivation machines and agricultural requirements (scientific supervisor Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Ch.I. Zhdanovich);
- Task 1.54 Construction of a platform position control system for mobile machines (scientific supervisor Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boykov).
Currently, the department's staff is involved in the international Belarusian-Uzbek project "Development of a theory for creating energy-efficient machine and tractor units for agrotechnologies" (scientific supervisor Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boykov) and 2 tasks under the State Program of Scientific Research "Mechanics, Metallurgy, and Diagnostics in Mechanical Engineering", subprogram "Mechanics":
- Development of scientific and methodological foundations for the study of physical and mechanical characteristics of tires, as well as systems for automatic regulation of air pressure in wheel machine tires depending on road conditions and operating modes (scientific supervisor Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boykov);
- Development of a methodology for determining, studying, and calculating the kinematic and dynamic parameters of a combined system for converting reciprocating motion of internal combustion engine pistons (scientific supervisor Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boykov).
During the second half of the day, the Department's researchers conduct research work on "Improvement of the methodology for selecting parameters and designing mobile machines and their systems" (scientific supervisor Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boykov).
The Department provides training for master's students in the specialty of advanced higher education 7-06-0715-01 "Transport" and for PhD students in the specialty 05.05.03 "Wheeled and Tracked Vehicles". Dissertations defended by foreign specialists at the Department include: 4 Doctor of Technical Sciences and 5 Candidate of Technical Sciences.
Dissertation supervisors include:
- Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.V. Guskov - 10 Doctors of Technical Sciences and 27 Candidates of Technical Sciences;
- Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.P. Boykov - 3 Doctors of Technical Sciences and 9 Candidates of Technical Sciences;
- Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor N.V. Bohdan - 1 Doctor of Technical Sciences and 11 Candidates of Technical Sciences;
- Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A.Kh. Lefarov - 1 Doctor of Technical Sciences and 9 Candidates of Technical Sciences;
- Doctor of Technical Sciences V.A. Korobkin - 1 Candidate of Technical Sciences;
- Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Ch.I. Zhdanovich - 1 Candidate of Technical Sciences.
Students actively participate in the Department's research activities. Each year, 15-25 individuals present reports at republican and international conferences. Applications for inventions are submitted based on the best findings, scientific articles are published, and entries are prepared for contests, with opportunities for obtaining grants. Creative graduates who have shown activity in their studies and research have the opportunity to continue their education in master's and doctoral programs.
All department activities are closely related to production. Leading enterprises of the Republic of Belarus such as OJSC "MTZ", OJSC "UKH Belkommunmash", OJSC "AMKODOR - managing company of the holding", OJSC "MZKT", among others, are customers for many of the department's research projects. Technological, design, and pre-diploma practices for students are conducted on their basis, and diploma projects are implemented.
