The Belarusian Republican Youth Union Public Association is the legal successor of the Komsomol of Belarus, the Youth Union of Belarus, the Belarusian Patriotic Youth Union, and the Belarusian Youth Union. The decision to create it was made on September 6, 2002 at the unification congress. A member of the NGO "BRSM" can be any citizen of the Republic of Belarus, a stateless person, as well as foreign citizens permanently residing in the Republic of Belarus, aged 14 to 31 years, who recognize the Charter and program documents of the NGO "BRSM".

The purpose of the NGO "BRSM" is to create conditions for the comprehensive development of youth, the disclosure of their creative potential, and to promote the development of a civil society in the Republic of Belarus based on patriotic, spiritual and moral values. The Belarusian Republican Youth Union unites caring people in its ranks, those who are not going to sit idly by, but are ready to make their efforts, use their abilities to make their lives and the lives of their peers more interesting, brighter, and meaningful.

Each of us has ideas, ideas, and creative plans. You can implement them with your like-minded people. Every young person should have the opportunity to be heard, discuss their concerns with other interested people (peers, representatives of the older generation, experts, government officials), find out what they can do to solve existing problems, and receive support for their future actions. The BRSM is a truly unified youth union. Working in it, we act not only as residents of our city, students of our school, but also as representatives of the Belarusian youth. We feel like we are part of our Homeland, part of the Republic of Belarus.

An important aspect in the implementation of youth initiatives is youth employment (student movement).

Pursuant to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated February 18, 2020 No. 58 "On the organization of student groups in the territory of the Republic of Belarus", the Primary organization of the BRSM BNTU is carrying out planned work on the organization of secondary youth employment.

One of the main activities of the BRSM is the volunteer movement "Kind Heart". Year after year, BNTU BRSM volunteers work at agricultural fairs, hold health days, provide targeted assistance to war veterans and the Komsomol movement, the disabled, children from disadvantaged and foster families in such actions as, for example, the Republican charity event
"Miracles for Christmas", "Give a child happiness", the Republican youth project "Touched"and many others.
Much attention has been paid to the development of the youth law enforcement movement through the formation of Youth law enforcement units to assist law enforcement agencies in the prevention and suppression of illegal acts, assistance in working with minors who are registered in various types.
The BRSM actively organizes events for the organization of leisure activities for students both at each faculty and at the university as a whole: These are the BNTU Student of the Year and Miss BNTU contests, the PRIME DOTA CUP and BNTU FIFA CUP esports tournaments. The BNTU Youth Union holds monthly intellectual games "Quiz Time BNTU", as well as many other cultural and sports events.
