On May 19, 2026, Dormitory No. 8 of the Belarusian National Technical University turned into a true arena of strength and character. Open power triathlon competitions among students were held there, bringing together the fittest athletes from among the students living in the dormitory.
This time, the emphasis was on strength endurance and relative strength. The competition program included three basic exercises:
Bench press
Military press (standing overhead press)
Standing barbell curl (biceps curl)
The main rule of the tournament made the competition as objective as possible: all disciplines were performed for the maximum number of repetitions with a weight equal to 50% of the athlete's own body weight. This system equalized the participants — heavyweights had to handle serious loads, while athletes in the lightweight and middleweight categories had to demonstrate endurance and technical control.
Each set was met with applause, and the battle for the final repetitions turned into a true test of will. The "to failure" format made it possible to identify not just strong, but also functionally prepared students.
Based on the total results across all three disciplines, the strongest in each category were determined:
Category up to 80 kg: Alexey Yushkevich
Category 80–90 kg: Nikita Melyukh
Category 90+ kg: Vladislav Filipovich
The competitions at BNTU Dormitory No. 8 clearly demonstrated that student sports are actively developing.
