From May 15 to May 17, a vibrant youth life was in full swing at the Zubrenok National Children's Educational and Wellness Center. Two large—scale forums were held here at the same time - "The Time of your opportunities" and "Friendship without Borders". The participants included students, representatives of the student council, as well as the chairman and members of the Council of Young Scientists of BNTU.
The grand opening set the tone for the whole event. Tatiana Osmolovskaya, Director of the Zubrenok Scientific and Educational Center, and Victoria Zakharevskaya, head of the Republican Youth Center, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. After the official opening, an exciting program awaited the participants.
One of the key events for the participants of both forums was the dialogue platform "Non-accidental meeting". Students and working youth had a unique opportunity to communicate directly with the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Ivanets and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Socialist Republic Vladimir Pavlovsky. The dialogue turned out to be honest and lively. The key topics of discussion were the Year of the Belarusian Woman and the situation of youth in the country. The participants asked exciting questions about the support of young professionals, the role of women in science and industry, and how a young man can build a successful career in his homeland.
— The meeting with the minister was very informative and took place in an informal setting. We asked the questions that really interested us and got detailed answers to them. It is especially valuable to hear this from important people, such as the Minister of Education. Andrey Ivanovich answered everything we asked in detail. He shared relevant information that had not been published anywhere else. Such communication is always very inspiring," said Roman Golub, a student at the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering.
Each of the two forums had its own program, united by a common idea of youth development. The program of the forum "The Time of your Opportunities" focused on practical self-development and organized sports competitions and trainings on leadership and public speaking skills. For the first time, millionaire bloggers, popular media personalities, were invited to the event. Young people were able not only to listen to Internet stars, but also to communicate personally, ask questions about content creation and personal brand. For many, this experience has become a revelation and a powerful impetus to the development of their media projects.
The participants of the Friendship Without Borders forum actively worked on networking sites, thought over joint projects at events dedicated to development in the media sphere, talked about their universities and took a tour of Zubrenk. Each participant could choose an activity to their liking.
— Attending such events is always well remembered. New acquaintances and contacts, an unconventional atmosphere of communication very often develops into long—term cooperation, which makes it possible to unite both young scientists and representatives of working youth, the volunteer movement and other public associations," said Ekaterina Korsak, Chairman of the BNTU Council of Young Scientists.
Three days flew by unnoticed, but productively. Such forums prove that the active, thinking and ambitious youth of Belarus have their own opportunities, and their time is coming today.
