BNTU students discussed spiritual relics and the most important choices in life.

Студенты БНТУ поговорили о духовных святынях и главном выборе в жизни

Today, March 30, the Belarusian National Technical University hosted a meeting, "Spiritual Relics of Belarus", organized for students of the Automobile and Tractor Faculty in anticipation of Easter. BNTU graduate and cleric of the St. Elizabeth Convent, Father Sergei Faley, addressed the students.

Opening the meeting, Elena Grinevich, Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work at the Automobile and Tractor Faculty, emphasized the importance of such events in the lives of future engineers.

"Today's meeting will be devoted to issues related to spirituality. I hope this is a very meaningful moment for you, because such events shape and develop a person. A university is necessary for developing professional knowledge, but becoming a person who does good deeds and remembers their parents is not enough."

The floor was then given to Sergei Faley, who admitted that his active journey toward faith began during his student years:

"I'm very pleased to be able to attend a university that gave me a start in an interesting adult life, not only as a professional but also as a person, because my spirituality began to actively develop in my fourth year."

Reflecting on the spiritual world, the priest noted that our consciousness is accustomed to clinging only to the visible world. However, to understand the invisible, humans have a kind of "heartfelt feeling."

"I think there are those among you who have fallen in love or are in love. And this sixth sense is the heartfelt one. When you live not here, but at the level of the heart, it is a great happiness," explained Sergiy Faley, noting that divine love also possesses great depth and mystery.

The key idea of his speech was the assertion that life is a time of great choice. Speaking about Easter, Sergiy Faley explained the profound symbolism of the Easter attributes.

The priest specifically discussed the traditions of Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Lazarus Saturday. The cleric explained why in our latitudes the feast of the Lord's Entry into Jerusalem is celebrated with pussy willow branches (replacing palm branches).

The meeting took place in a confidential atmosphere and gave the students the opportunity not only to learn more about Orthodox traditions but also to reflect on eternal values, inner harmony, and the most important choice in life.
