Summing up the results of the English language Olympiad

As part of the International Youth Forum "Creativity and Innovation 2026" an English Language Olympiad was held from March 18 to 25, 2026, at the English Language No. 1 Department of the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering. The Olympiad was attended by first- to third-year students from the following university faculties: Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Automobile and Tractor Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Power Engineering, Faculty of Instrumentation, Faculty of Military Engineering, Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics, as well as 10th- and 11th-grade students from the BNTU Lyceum. The organizers of this annual event aim to identify and support talented students who are passionate about learning English and view it as an integral part of their professional development.

A total of 145 students (119 undergraduates and 26 lyceum students) participated in the first stage of the Olympiad, which included a vocabulary and grammar test and text comprehension tasks. Based on the results of this qualifying round, the jury selected 21 finalists to participate in the second, oral round, in which the students demonstrated spontaneous speech skills in situations selected by lottery.

Based on the results of the Olympiad:

The FIRST-DEGREE DIPLOMA was awarded to:
Igor Dmitrievich Vetrov, third-year student of the Automobile and Tractor Faculty;

The SECOND-DEGREE DIPLOMA was awarded to:
Alexandra Aleksandrovna Amelyanchik, third-year student of the Information Technology and Robotics Faculty;
Ekaterina Vladimirovna Mazko, third-year student of the Automobile and Tractor Faculty;

The THIRD-DEGREE DIPLOMA was awarded to:
Ivan Aleksandrovich Krasovsky, first-year student of the Information Technology and Robotics Faculty;
Anastasia Pavlovna Lavrenova, third-year student of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty;
Zlata Andreevna Sinitsyna, first-year student of the Instrument Engineering Faculty;

COMMENDATIONS were given to:
Sofia Vitalievna Kochmarik, first-year student of the Automobile and Tractor Faculty;
Nikita Aleksandrovich Kravchuk, student of Class 11C at the BNTU Lyceum.
