On March 13, 2026, Dormitory No. 8 of the Instrument Engineering Faculty hosted an armlifting competition, bringing together extreme strength enthusiasts and anyone eager to test their grip strength.
Armlifting is a discipline where the strength of the hands, fingers, and forearms is paramount. On this day, participants had to complete three challenging challenges, each requiring a unique technique and nerves of steel.
Despite the fact that the competition was held as a student tournament, the level of competition was fierce. For many students, it was an opportunity not only to test themselves but also to network with like-minded individuals. The three disciplines revealed the three strongest athletes who were able to conquer the weights.
The pinch grip is the most challenging finger test. Holding a weight with your fingers, without the use of your thumb, is not something everyone can do. Pavel Kachan proved to be unrivaled in this area.
The Larratt Lift is a specialized exercise that mimics arm wrestling, where not only force but also proper trajectory is crucial. Dmitry Braginets emerged victorious in this technique, demonstrating excellent coordination and forearm strength.
The Apollon's Axle is a classic strength-based exercise. Lifting a thick bar places tremendous strain on the wrist. Ivan Pasyuk excelled in this challenge, confirming his reputation for a powerful grip.

The tournament demonstrated that students from the Instrument Engineering Faculty successfully combine high intellect with excellent physical fitness. We hope such competitions will become a tradition.
