Today, on March 11, a dialogue platform on the prevention of offenses in the youth environment was held at the Belarusian National Technical University. The event was addressed by Nikita Bogatov, district inspector of the youth affairs department of the Administration of the Soviet District of Minsk, Nikita Semkiv, an employee of the department of counteraction to cybercrime of the Administration of the Soviet District of Minsk, Alexander Korshuk, state inspector of the OGAI of the Administration of the Soviet District of Minsk, and Evgeny Falkovsky, an employee of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Administration of the Soviet District of Minsk, senior lieutenant of police.
During the event, law enforcement agencies provided students with specific examples from their practice, so that young people would understand that any mistake can lead to serious and irreversible consequences. The speakers also provided the students with information about alcohol and drug-related offenses, as well as information about cybersecurity and traffic rules.
Nikita Bogatov was the first speaker. He focused on the topic of drugs, debunking the myth of "easy money" on the internet.
"The old "try it, then start selling" scheme is outdated. Nowadays, crimes have moved into the digital realm. Young people are lured online with the promise of easy money," emphasized Nikita Ivanovich.
The inspector also explained the responsibility for drinking alcohol. He reminded the students that drinking alcohol in public places, including educational institutions, is subject to administrative penalties. This includes registration with the Juvenile Affairs Inspectorate, as well as registration with the educational institution and a narcologist.
Nikita Semkiv also addressed the topic of cybersecurity. He warned the students that young people often film their illegal actions and post them on the internet without considering the consequences.
— A special monitoring group has been established under the Main Department of Internal Affairs, which is responsible for tracking illegal content. No illegal act captured on camera and posted online goes unchecked. In addition, the district department has its own public safety monitoring center, where employees monitor surveillance cameras around the clock and identify offenses in real-time.
Nikita Semkiv urged students to be responsible for what they post on their accounts and in messaging apps, and to always remember that their digital footprint remains forever.
Alexander Korshuk spoke about road safety. He reminded the audience about the rules of the road for pedestrians and drivers, emphasizing the importance of using reflective elements at night and the prohibition of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Evgeny Falkovsky added to his colleagues' speech by providing information about the prevention of property crimes. The senior lieutenant explained to the students how to avoid becoming a victim of theft and robbery and encouraged them to be vigilant in public places.
