Today, February 27, a meeting of the Belarusian National Technical University's Council was held. The event's agenda included not only work-related matters but also a number of awards.
Aleksandr Manyukevich, Head of the Department of Long-Term Planning, Educational Activities, and the Center for the Development of Engineering Education and Organization of the Academic Process, was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
"I first stepped foot in Polytechnic University in 1984. I became a student in the Faculty of Robotics and Robotic Systems, specializing in Electric Drives, and since then my life has been inextricably linked with my alma mater. I have performed my duties efficiently and responsibly in all my positions. Receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education is a symbol of recognition of my service to the university and a reward for my long and fruitful work in the field of education," noted Aleksandr Vladimirovich.
Alla Kalina, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Machine Components, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, and Associate Professor, was awarded a Certificate of Merit from BNTU.
Anton Zhuravlev, a cadet from the Military-Technical Faculty, received special recognition for saving a woman from an attack on February 20. He was also awarded a BNTU honorary diploma.
"A couple of days ago in Minsk, Anton witnessed a robbery. The attacker attacked a woman withdrawing money from an ATM with a knife, slashing her. Our cadet didn't lose his composure and didn't ignore someone else's misfortune. He chased the criminal for about a kilometer, and then single-handedly apprehended the attacker. Anton simultaneously called the police and safely handed the attacker over to law enforcement," said Alexander Talerchik, Head of the Military-Technical Faculty.
