Yesterday, December 24, 2025, the National New Year's Youth Ball, one of the most vibrant and anticipated events of the winter, took place at the Palace of Independence. The best students from across the country, distinguished in their academics, science, sports, creativity, and community service, gathered for the celebration. Eight students represented the Belarusian National Technical University this year.

Before heading to the ball, the students met with BNTU Rector Sergei Kharytonchyk. He addressed them with parting words, emphasizing that participation in such an event was a sign of trust and recognition of each student's achievements.

The ball at the Palace of Independence became the embodiment of a festive tradition. The atmosphere was both festive and magical, and the presence of President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko added special significance to the event.

The debutants performed the first dance, as expected, and then the audience swirled in a waltz. The ballroom program also included a polonaise, quadrille, mazurka, contredanse, gavotte, cotillion, polka, and minuet. A new addition was a round dance with formations, which added a touch of color to the celebration.

That evening, BNTU students shared their impressions live from the scene. For example, Daria Velichko, chair of the youth wing of the Belarusian Union of Journalists and a student in the Faculty of Energy Construction, noted that the opportunity to attend the national ball was an indicator of the successful work done and the university's trust.
– I want to note that at the general runs everything was exactly like tonight, but the sensations themselves are quite different. President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko was present, which greatly influenced the atmosphere in the hall. It was an anticipatory, fabulous and exciting feeling. As our rector Sergei Vasilyevich Kharytonchyk.said, "each of the guys has worked hard and deserves to be present at this ball." This is for us, for the students, as an indicator that we have come a long way, and a sign of the university's trust, because at the ball we are primarily rearranging our Belarusian National Technical University.

For students, the Republican Ball also became an opportunity to make new acquaintances among students from other universities.
– Everything went very quickly, and I'm very impressed and emotional right now. At first there were feelings, but then they subsided, changed to a feeling of joy and fun. The speech of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko was very touching, it made me want to cry. In fact, it's very sad that this moment has already ended. I would also like to dance and be in this fairy tale. We met a lot of guys, exchanged experiences, and talked about our university. I think we have managed to find good friends with whom we will continue to communicate, – said Anastasia Ivanova, chairman of the guild trade union organization of students of the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy, a student.

The secretary of the "BRSM", a student of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering Rodion Fedorovich also revealed his impressions:
– Emotions overwhelmed me and all of us. An event of this level gave us a feeling inexplicable to others. To feel this, you need to take part in the ball. The New Year's ball at the Independence Palace is charming, elegant and mesmerizing from the first minute, but we all do not forget about the importance, a certain rigor in the air that envelops us as we circle in the dance. Meeting many people gives you inspiration to be even better than before, gives you the confidence to conquer new heights and a lot of memories for the rest of your life.

For BNTU students, the ball was not only a celebration, but also an opportunity to present the university at a high level, make new contacts and feel like part of a great tradition that unites the youth of the country.

The Republican New Year's Youth Ball at the Independence Palace is an event that will forever remain in the memory of the participants. It has become a symbol of unity, inspiration and faith in the future, and for BNTU students it is another step towards new achievements.
