From December 15 to 18, 2025, a delegation from Tongji University (China) is visiting the Belarusian National Technical University. The delegation includes Professor Zen Meng Yuan and Master's student Nurlan Ertegin.
For reference: Tongji University, founded in 1907 in Shanghai, is one of China's leading universities, ranking 18th nationally and 10th among BRICS universities. The Belarusian National Technical University is developing partnerships with the university, including academic exchanges and joint research projects.

On December 16, the guests enjoyed a series of tours. Representatives from Tongji University visited the exhibition of the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park and the National History Museum of the Republic of Belarus, and toured the BNTU campus and the Faculty of Transport Communications (FTC). In addition, they discussed cooperation in the educational and scientific fields with the Polytechnic University leadership.

Today, two lectures on modern technologies for intelligent monitoring and operation of road infrastructure were held for final-year students of the Faculty of Transport Communications, delivered by Zen Meng Yuan. The first lecture examined the potential of fiber-optic sensors for assessing the performance characteristics of road surfaces. Participants were introduced to the operating principles of sensor systems, methods for monitoring deformations and loads, and approaches to early damage detection and improving the durability of road structures.

The second lecture focused on the development of intelligent transport infrastructure. Participants discussed approaches to data-driven road surface maintenance, analysis of monitoring results, wear prediction, and decision-making aimed at improving road safety and operational efficiency.

Tomorrow, December 18, Zen Meng Yuan and Nurlan Ertegin will visit the exhibition at the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park and participate in the 5th International Scientific and Technical Conference "Road Construction and Its Engineering Support".

We thank the representatives of Tongji University for their visit and look forward to further mutually beneficial cooperation!
