From November 12 to 18, 2025, a delegation from the Harare Institute of Technology, led by Rector Quint Kanukamwe, is visiting the Belarusian National Technical University. As part of the visit, negotiations were held today to discuss issues related to the development of cooperation and scientific-technological collaboration.

Representing BNTU were Rector Sergey Kharitonchik, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yuri Nikolaychik, Dean of the Faculty of Instrument Engineering Alexander Svistun, Head of the Department of "Design and Production of Instruments" Andrey Savchenko, and Deputy General Director for Development and Strategic Planning of the BNTU Scientific and Technological Park "Polytechnic" Svetlana Pankova.

Sergey Kharitonchik introduced the guests to BNTU’s activities, emphasizing its research work:
– Our university cooperates with all industrial enterprises in Belarus. We always talk about this because it is important for understanding our interaction with the real economy. At all these enterprises, there are offices and educational units of our university, and students study under real production conditions. BNTU conducts a lot of scientific research that corresponds to the directions of work of our faculties. As you can see, these are mainly engineering fields. We have established a special institute that is solely engaged in large-scale scientific research; it is not just developing theory, it has a number of major laboratories and production sites. Some of these laboratories are overseen by relevant ministries.

The members of the delegation, in turn, spoke about their university. The representatives of BNTU learned more about the activities of the Harare Institute of Technology, as well as received information regarding the planned joint production in Zimbabwe.
– I am grateful to you for the meeting in Minsk and very happy to see your university. Despite the cloudy weather, your hospitality and warm atmosphere create the best impressions for us, – noted Quintom Kanukamwe.

Further discussions allowed for the coordination of certain issues regarding the creation of joint educational programs for undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate studies, academic exchange, as well as the organization of joint research projects and production. To demonstrate the production potential to the delegation, a tour of the exhibition at the BNTU Scientific and Technological Park “Polytechnic” was organized.

We thank the delegation from Zimbabwe for their visit and look forward to further fruitful cooperation.
