The opening ceremony of the Republican Universiade for the 2025/26 academic year was held in the concert hall of the National Center for Children and Youth Art on October 23, 2025. The event included a summary of the results of the recent Universiade, in which Polytechnic University took first place.
For reference: The Republican Universiade is a large-scale event bringing together university students majoring in physical education and sports. The organizers are the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, various sports federations, the Republican Center for Physical Education and Sports for Pupils and Students, and the Belarusian University Sports Association.
The ceremony included a sports parade featuring representatives of the country's universities and performances by creative groups. Awards were presented to the winners and runners-up by Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Kadlubai and Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Baraulya.

In the 2024/25 academic year, Polytechnic University teams participated in 40 Universiade events across 27 sports. Twenty teams won and placed in the following sports:
Following the results of the 2024/25 Republican Universiade, the Belarusian National Technical University won the first, strongest, group, scoring 1,794 points in the overall standings.

At the ceremony, the winners of the Republican Universiade in kettlebell lifting, including Andrey Savich, a student of the Instrument-Making Faculty, Kirill Kot, a student of the Mining and Environmental Engineering Faculty, and Denis Komar, a student of the Automobile and Tractor Engineering Faculty, served as flag bearers representing BNTU.

The ceremony officially launched the new season of student sports competitions, which promises to be intense and spectacular. We congratulate the students on their outstanding athletic achievements and wish them continued success in the 2025/26 Republican Universiade!
