You are a first-year student, and the vast world of the Belarusian National Technical University opens in front of you. In order not to get lost in this diversity, we continue our tour of the campus and nearby facilities. We talked about buildings and dormitories in the last article, now it's time for recreation areas and canteens.

Where to have a snack at BNTU

If you are looking for a place where you can have a delicious and inexpensive meal, then the facilities of the BNTU nutrition center will help with this. In them, everyone will find dishes to their preference and a price that will definitely please. On average, 7,000 people visit the center's facilities every day of the academic year, including 400 cadets from the Military Technical Faculty.

The menu of the catering center's facilities is refreshed daily, offering a diverse selection of dishes and desserts. Therefore, you can enjoy a delightful meal at the following locations:

  • canteen No. 2 ( Yak. Kolasa St.18);
  • canteen of the 11th academic building (B. Khmelnitsky St., 9);
  • canteen of the Polytechnic Sports and Recreation Complex (B. Khmelnitsky St., 9/2 );
  • canteen of the main academic building ( Nezavisimosti Ave.65);
  • Dining room No. 4 ( Nezavisimosti Ave.146);
  • 9 buffets with hot meals;
  • 5 kiosks;
  • “Kulinariya” store;
  • confectionery shop.

Where to relax and recharge

After a hectic study day or during a recess, it is essential to seek a place to relax, engage in conversation, or simply enjoy a moment of tranquility. BNTU offers a variety of inviting and practical spaces for relaxation: 

  • benches are especially pleasant in sunny weather.;
  • benches in the buildings – for a short rest between classes;
  • Coworking space in the Scientific Library is a modern space for study, work and communication.

Printing and copying

You can print the course paper or copy the document at the printing points organized by the BNTU Scientific Library (see the table below).

Sports and wellness

BNTU has a sports and recreation complex "Polytechnic", which opens up many sports opportunities. It includes:

  • two mini football fields with artificial turf;
  • volleyball and basketball courts;
  • running tracks (400 m);
  • gyms (basketball, volleyball, wrestling, aerobics, fitness equipment, etc.);
  • 50-meter pool with 10 lanes.

Tips for a freshman

To facilitate and expedite the process of adjustment, there are some suggestions for freshmen. 

  • Save a map of the buildings – it will help you navigate in the first weeks.;
  • Don't be afraid to ask – students and staff are always ready to help.;
  • Use your breaks wisely: relax, read, and socialize.

Polytech is a big and friendly family. Don't be afraid to ask questions, because this is where everyone will help you, from students to teachers.
