Today, on July 8, a guided tour was held at the BNTU “Polytechnic” Science and Technology Park for delegations from Karshi State Technical University (KSTU) and Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni.

The delegation from Karshi State Technical University included Gulom Uzakov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation; Khayrulla Davlanov, Head of the Department of Energy Engineering; and Bobir Toshmamatov, Lecturer at the same department.
In turn, UrSU was represented by Ravshan Palmanov, Head of the Department of Architecture, and Mashrab Abdullaev, Lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering.

First, Tatiana Malyshko, a research associate at the BNTU “Polytechnic” Science and Technology Park, spoke about the history of the institution.
– The history of our technopark dates back to 1992, which means the BNTU “Polytechnic“ Science and Technology Park has been operating in the market for over 30 years. Initially, the park was established as the educational, scientific, and production center “Metolit“.

The delegation then learned more about the technopark’s developments.
– For example, we proposed a technology for manufacturing contact parts. In China, such parts were produced from copper, whereas we suggested using aluminum with copper-plated contact surfaces. The challenge lies in the fact that aluminum and copper are not recommended to be joined directly. Nevertheless, our engineers developed a successful method for implementing this technology, which significantly reduced the production cost of contacts, – noted the research associate.

One of the developments that took over 10 years to create and is currently in high demand in the medical field is a knee joint prosthesis.
– Our next product, which we worked on for about 10 years, is a knee joint prosthesis. At that time, we had no domestic manufacturers, so expensive prosthetics were exclusively imported, and the waiting list for a free joint replacement was scheduled for three years. In 2022, we performed the first operation. The entire set, consisting of three parts, costs around 700–800 dollars. For citizens of the Republic of Belarus, the endoprosthesis, surgery, and rehabilitation are free of charge, provided that our model is used, – shared Tatiana Malyshko.

About 60% of the produced products are showcased in the exhibition. During its operation, the BNTU “Polytechnic” Science and Technology Park and its residents have obtained 70 patents, which are used in the production of innovative products and the provision of high-tech services.

We thank the delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan for their visit and look forward to continued fruitful cooperation.
