Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China in the field of education is the foundation for a multitude of useful research projects. It contributes to strengthening scientific ties, exchanging experience and technologies, as well as developing innovative projects that have significant potential for both countries. Agreements on joint work between Chinese and Belarusian universities allow their representatives to exchange valuable experience and improve their knowledge. One example of such people is Xu Jing, an employee of the Faculty of International Cooperation at the Belarusian National Technical University.
After moving to Belarus, she completed her master's degree at Belarusian State University, then enrolled in a postgraduate programme at the Belarusian National Technical University. However, it was not only the high quality of education that attracted her to our country:
– I like Belarusian culture and nature. It also has everything I need to live and develop my career. I am proud to call Belarus my second home.
– Was it difficult to adjust to life in another country?
– The main difficulty was learning the language. I have been studying Russian for six months now and have made some progress, but I still have a lot to learn.

Despite all the difficulties, Xu Jing is actively engaged in scientific work and has achieved significant results. In 2025, the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus approved her thesis for the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences.
– I defended my thesis on “The Development of Corporate Governance by Non-Financial Transnational Corporations of the People's Republic of China in the Context of Increasing Regionalisation” on 27 December 2024. I want to say that it was exciting, but the experience I gained has served me well in my further work and research.
Based on the results of the defence, the young scientist was awarded a degree in economics. Her research has made a significant contribution to the study of real economic cooperation between Belarus and China, especially in the field of international company management.

– What else do you do besides economic research?
– For almost a year now, I have been working at the Faculty of International Cooperation at BNTU, where I am involved in developing academic ties between universities in Belarus and China. I help to enrol Chinese citizens at BNTU and also supervise the enrolment and guidance of foreign students. It was in Belarus that I found not only a job, but also inspiration for my research.
Xu Jing also serves as chair of the BNTU Chinese Student Association. With her direct involvement, cultural events, celebrations and meetings are held to help Chinese students successfully integrate into Belarusian society and Belarusian students better understand Chinese culture.
– It is important to me that every student feels supported. We are not just a community, but a big friendly family.

Finally, Xu Jing shared that she dreams of further strengthening scientific and educational ties between Belarus and China. Her plans include developing new joint research projects, developing double degree programmes and expanding academic exchanges.
