FEC students move into a new dormitory

Студенты ФЭС заселяются в новое общежитие

Today, February 7, the process of settling students of the Faculty of Energy Construction into dormitory No. 19 began. We share the situation and tell about the students' impressions of the new home.

For reference: On January 17, a grand opening of the dormitory at 9  Akademika Vysotskogo Street, took place on Borisovskiy Trakt. The building will house students from the Belarusian National Technical University and the Belarusian State Technological University.

The corridors were crowded today as students lined up to take their long-awaited spots in the newly built apartment-type housing. Looking forward to moving in, a fourth-year student Elena Karpenko noted:

–  We used to come here after the grand opening. This is an incredible hostel. We will make this place cozy, and it will be our new nest. I am sure that I will reach new educational heights here, because the more comfortable the place where you study is, the better it turns out.

The word "comfort" is ideal for describing the students' living conditions. Every single one of the guys shares their delight at the changes and, although someone jokes that the lack of green wallpaper is a big minus for the "FEC" students, each student eagerly awaits the moment when the treasured keys are in their hands.

The emotions of the students are undoubtedly shared by the management of the faculty and the dormitory. Dmitry Livansky, Dean of the Faculty of Energy Construction, stressed that the opportunities provided by the new building would allow the students to become more actively involved in the scientific and creative activities of the dormitory.

- The mood at the faculty is very inspiring. The students have been waiting for today's event  for a long time: everyone was asking when the move-in would begin. It is not surprising, the building is very beautiful, modern, clean and well-maintained. There is everything for a comfortable life here, - summed up Dmitry Livansky .

Indeed, the dormitory is equipped with a conference hall, a buffet, a laundry, medical facilities, a fitness and gymnastics hall, as well as study rooms. In total, there are 1030 places for students of BNTU and BSTU. This was reported by the head of dormitory No. 19 Elena Zankevich.

- Of course, our team is very happy for the students. An interesting, eventful life in this dormitory awaits everyone. For this, a lot of joint work will be carried out by teachers and organizers, because in such a large building it is possible to hold a lot of events, from sports to culinary. I am sure that the created conditions will contribute to friendship between BNTU and BSTU students.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, we also looked into the residential blocks - spacious rooms in which, as the students noted, it is very comfortable to live for five people, although at first it may seem that such a number of people is too many for one block.

– I admit, there is a significant difference between the old dormitory and the new one. The girls and I were especially surprised by the corner kitchen: it's a very large space, there is a lot of space here. I think it is very important for girls: it's hard not to get along in such conditions. I would particularly  like to mention the dressing room. Isn't it a miracle to have a separate room for our things, which, to be honest, are quite a lot, - admitted Svetlana Grib, pointing to the bags

Meanwhile, the "FEС" students continue to arrive at their new home. The academic semester will begin very soon, and no matter how much all the students dream of delaying this moment, the guys from the Faculty of Energy Construction are not at all afraid of it. We congratulate the students on moving in and wish them comfort and warmth in their new place!
