The "School of Young Scientists - 2024" has started at BNTU

В БНТУ стартовала работа «Школы молодого ученого – 2024»

Today, November 11, the Belarusian National Technical University launched the “School of Young Scientists” – a unique platform that this time will bring together about 325 students, master’s students, postgraduates and teachers from all Belarusian universities.

For reference: the event is organized by the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education.

The first "School of Young Scientists" was held in 2023 at the Belarusian State University. This year, the honor of holding the educational intensive was given to the Belarusian National Technical University.

Before the start of the plenary session, the Chairperson of the BNTU Council of Young Scientists, Ekaterina Korsak, spoke about the support of young scientists at the Polytechnic University.

- Our university has created various tools to support talented youth and young scientists. They are actively supported by the BNTU Council of Young Scientists and the Department for the Training of Highly Qualified Scientific Personnel. They are provided with promising opportunities, internal competitions "Best Student Researcher", "Best Postgraduate" and "Best Young Scientist" are organized. All of them are aimed at supporting and encouraging young scientists and talented youth.

The event was opened by a plenary session with the participation of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets, the Rector of BNTU Sergei Kharitonchik and the Chairperson of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus Anastasia Kiselevich.

- Good afternoon, highly respected participants of the "School of the Young Scientist", honored guests! Today is a very important, responsible day. Nowadays our country stands very firmly on the foundation of innovative development. And in this regard, of course, it is very difficult to overestimate the contribution of science, the contribution of scientists, including young scientists, to the development of the most innovative sectors of the economy. The "School of the Young Scientist" is designed primarily to unite you, young scientists, who we rely on in our country. It is youth and audacity in the good sense of the word that allows young people to make the most incredible discoveries, to move forward in the areas in which each of you is working today, - Andrei Ivanets noted in his greeting.

The following reports were presented at the meeting:

  • "On the activities of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus" – Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Shlychkov;
  • "On promising areas for self-realization of young scientists in the National Academy of Sciences" – Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physical and Technical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences Sergei Shcherbakov;
  • "On the activities of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research: opportunities for young scientists" – Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research Alexei Daineko;
  • "On the activities of the High-Tech Park" – Deputy Head of the High-Tech Park Kirill Zalessky;
  • "Growth points for young scientists in the field of technical sciences" – Rector of the Belarusian National Technical University Sergei Kharitonchik;
  • "On the regulations of the "School of Young Scientists" – Chairperson of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus Anastasia Kiselevich.

The participants then had a panel and open discussion. In the coming days, young scientists will attend lectures, meetings and excursions with invited speakers and guests.
